Hello all,
Was working on moving some large tree trunks into the fire, when I looked at the bucket and found I was missing a tooth! Now I have moved some pretty impressive rocks with this thing, and never even chipped one, couldn't imagine breaking one. Must have had it in a bind sideways is all I can think? Looks like it broke just after the welds that hold it on the bar. If I could find the tooth, I would just have it re-welded back on, but slim chance of finding it now. :(
Any of you out there know of a Dentists that might make "IMPLANTS" to go back on the bar? Not looking to replace the whole bar, just one tooth. IF I can find one like the one I have. Bar came with loader, when I bought the tractor, but not from NH, nor Woods. Was aftermarket add on. Dealer has since moved on, and I have no idea who to contact for replacement. Has worked well and no complaints till now.
Should be able to scarf off the old stump, grid down the old weld to the gum line, reinstall and weld on new tooth. Pretty straight forward, now if I can just get the tooth fairy to deliver that new tooth....
Oh well, just the price we pay for having toys!

I've seen single teeth offered on ebay.

It would be interesting to find the tooth so you could see if the lip/finger that fits under the bucket is broken. My guess is that the tooth was cracked and snapped on top without breaking the part under the lip (that could be done with an impact load from the side). When the tooth broke off, there was nothing to hold it on and it just dropped off. However, if you find the tooth and the part is broken that fits under the cutting edge, it would mean that it broke off first and then popped the top part of the tooth that is visible.

EDIT: We could call it "CSI:Tractorbynet.":D

I'd love to say I never saw that happen before.

OH NO not the root canal.... That root goes all the way to my back pocket....
Jinman, Best guess is that it was snapped off sideways. Don't see any damage like would be there if tooth was broke from underneath. Would expect to see bent up bucket edge, or at least scrapes, and that edge looks just fine top and bottom. Piece on top looks like it just snapped clean. Welds not torn or damaged any way. Guess I was lucky really, could have made the smiley face out of the bucket pretty easy, and that root goes WAY deep. :p
Jerry your right, mower blade will make it whistle past your head. Its the way I usually find stuff I just put down for a second. WHANGgggg :D
Thanks for the links, Will have to check dimensions on existing and see who has a close fit. Worse case, I could just get a whole new set of dentures.... ;)

My local tractor house sells several sizes of these teeth. You might check with an ag equipment dealer if any are close.

Or, you could just name your tractor Alfred E. Newman.

Finding a new tooth should be easy, because yours is a standard design. The new tooth could be cut back to match the wear length of you existing teeth. The replacement shank might be a little harder. Find a tractor or skid-loader bucket with the same tooth bar, and special order the the shank from that manufacturer. The shanks might be heat treated, if that is the case you couldn't cut one out of mild steel. Preheat the shank and tooth bar before welding the new shank into place. I would guess FFC attachments would have the same shank. What brand is the bucket? Make a full size cardboard template of the shank only, to compare with the other tooth bars you look at.

Looks like FFC to me.
