Simplicity 3112H
I have a Simplicity 3112H with a Briggs & Stratton engine. The number on the engine shroud is 300421-0127-01 but I don't think it is the right one. It either has a different motor or a different shroud because the shroud has been cut and folded to fit across the top but it does not fit where the head bolts go through the shroud to fasten to the head. Is there another way to tell what engine I have?

Thanks, Wthompson. I needed one. Save me $15.00.

The engine group shows the engine assembly but there is no part number for the shroud. Is there a number somewhere on the block to tell which engine I actually have?

Smallenginewarehouse.com shows that is the original motor (cast iron) or at least the original shroud.

Hard to say if its original. All B & S engines have the #'s stamped in the shroud. Older units had a
plate. You listed the Model and Type #'s. There should be another Code # after those. This will
give you the year and other info which may help you.
Those shrouds are always being changed by people on these engines.
