Breaking in work boots

/ Breaking in work boots #41
The idea of taking a brand new pair of boots and filling them with warm water in the bath tub sounds extreme. I had a pair of steel toed work boots and a new job required them. The key is wearing a couple of bread sacks over your socks. In the summer one long day really resulted in a pair of comfortable boots. Do not try this with cheaply made boots as the boots will not make it through the day! Enjoyed those motorcycle boots many years.

I wore Redwings at work for years. Had two pairs and alternated them every day. They lasted about a year for me. They all fit well right off the start. Always wore heavy wool socks in them winter or summer. :D

Picture is of one of the two remaining pair that are left from the working days.:)

Dang, John. Back in my Navy days in WESTPAC, wish you'd been there to barhop with me when the Marines were in port, LOL!

hey now-- as a former Marine.. all I got to say is--- the bigger they are..... :laughing::laughing:

And what is that other old saying? it's not about size? but about numbers and ability?:laughing::laughing::laughing:

I served with this 5'2 martial arts master...I can't even begin to spell the name of what he called it....

He was truly a tough nut! Saw him take down a 6'4 muscle head with 1 hit..
Bar brawl.. the monter spilt his beer on my friend...

:laughing::laughing:

thought I would add, that soaking in hot water and wearing was standard fare from my military days.. also, new skates are fitted by heating them in an oven then wearing,, also, if you sweat alot in your boots,, before a 5 mile march, we would rub some anti persistent on our feet,, and they stay dry as a bone..
