break caliper bolt - how to secure it

Hello everyone,

I recently changed the ball joints on my srw 2004 f350 diesel. Recently I found out that the rather sizable bolt that holds the brake unit in place came out ( this is the 2in by 1/2in bolt ). We had torqued it to 150 ft lbs but apparently that wasn't enough ( btw this is not the bolt that holds the brake pads - that one was fine ). I don't think I will be undoing this again anytime soon so I need it to stay! What do you all recommend I do in addition to torquing it again to 150.

loctite 262

you'll have to heat it to get it loose next time around

Ditto on the Locktite. Good stuff.

Loctite is what is used in that application due to the vibrations.

With all due respect , a 2X1/2" bolt tightened to 150* will take a bit to undo again . Are you certain it was not overlooked on assembly ?
