I believe I have something crossed. I have pressure from pump to power side of valve, tank hose to tank and power beyond to rear or 3 point hitch. I will disconnect the raise /lower..curl/dump. And see if squealing stops and 3 point responds. Thank you for telling me how to isolate. Will report back , I am limited on what I can do until next week, due to eye surgery. But after I see dr. Monday , I will get ok to bend, pull, lift over 10# and will for sure try this. And I will include pictures. Thank you for answering.

Sally,
Wishing you a speedy recovery

Please post some pictures of the diverter valve. I am curious to see what style of valve you have.

It is X-TRA Valve Kit MP020 by Precision Manufacturing Co. I bought it with thumb from Green's Machine Shop, online, as you see I have taken Diverter off.

Hydraulic Hose connections NOW: (1) High Side from (New) Gear Pump to Power side joy stick control valve. (2) Tank Hose from Joy Stick Control Valve to Tank. (3) Power Beyond on Joy Stick to Return UNDER SEAT. Hoses to Boom and bucket disconnected to isolate and try 3point as you suggested, I can push arms down by hand. I had diverter connected as follows( hoses from joy stick control that is coming from left side of control that controls tilt and curl into P1 and P2). Hoses from Bucket connected to Diverter Ports C1 and C4. And Hoses Connected to Thumb Hoses on Diverter C2 and C3. !2 Volt wiring connected to fuel shut off solenoid, so that it was no when tractor was running and disengaged when motor turned off. I am going to cool at filters and strainer again, could be trash was at bottom of tank and now has go to system again? Will be awhile don't know when dr. will ok lifting or laying head down. Thank You.

This is picture of another diverter I bought but have never used.BRANSON CONTROL VALVE 028.JPGBRANSON CONTROL VALVE 027.JPG. I don't know brand, I think I bought it from Surplus Center, it is same spects. as the X-tra.
I still don't have rebuilt control valve on tractor, because it needs pressure valve set, the machine shop's pressure test equipment was down and I haven't had a change to get valve back to them, with eye trouble, but will soon. Thanks

Sally,
With the valve plumbed like it is will the the 3 point lift properly? Pushing down by hand I presume was after it was raised and you wanting it to lower.

Your connections all sound correct for the valve. If you connect the loader will it raise and lower properly?

Don't injure your eyes trying to work on this.

3 point shudders when lifting, it goes down ok, I pushed arms to show it won't raise or hold equipment . It did great when new pump was put on and boom and bucket were disconnected from tractor, but power beyond valve was still connected as was the diverter, when boom, bucket with thumb were put back on,and I tried to lift bucket, instead the thumb opened, this should not have happened unless the diverter was used, but it wasn't. I tried again with same results. I then removed diverter and thumb and hoses to them, tried lifting bucket, and it went up some, about 3 feet, and it shuddered, I thought it had air,re-tightned all clamps still the same. I then ordered new joy stick control valve, installed it and it will curl and tilt but not raise . I took old joy stick control valve had it rebuilt but their machine used to set relief valve was broke, it is now fixed but due to eye surgery have not taken it back. I took 4 hoses that control directions of loader as suggested and 3point now is going up as I said at first of post. I am going to clean strainer and change filter,it was so clogged I am thinking more trash is limiting oil flow. Hopefully doctor will let me do this.I will continue to isolate and hopefully find where problem is and repair it. Thanks to everyone, I really appreciate ya'll sharing your experience and time to help with this challenge . Will keep you informed. Thanks again.

Couple things, hope you didn't use teflon pipe tape on the fittings and you are using quality fluid, not the cheap 303 fluid that TSC sells.

No I used hydraulic oil bought from local parts store, the owner is farmer and sold me some that he uses, it said it was for Ford,Kubota,John Deere,Mahindra, ect., but I used Wix Hydraulic Filter, I will order OEM Branson this week also a new strainer,(this one looked good after I cleaned it,but I try to always keep filters for each piece of equipment),this was first time I used anything but Branson filter, but was out and this is first time I ever even cleaned strainer, didn't know where it was,it must have had 3" of gunk on it, This is why I'm thinking it may be that way again. Will let you know what happens. Thank You

Did you bother to look at the label and see if it was 'approved' for your tractor brand? I don't ever take anyone's word for that stuff and it was cheap, it's probably junk. s a word of caution, any 303 based hydraulic fluid is ok for a gear drive tractor but of you have an HST unit, cheap 303 seres fluid is death by a thousand cuts or a thousand leaks as the seals fail.

Also, aftermarket hydraulic filters are known to create problems like burning pumps on Branson tractors.

Someone else with a 2910i. Thought I had the only 1. Try the filter 1st. We are gear driven not hydrostatic by the way. The squealingg could be the relief valve stuck open also. Just a couple things to check.

I have been on phone with Sid from Sid's Trading Co. LLC in Luka Mississippi, Sid's is a great place to order parts and help with questions. I ordered filters, and lower pressure hose for strainer. I was reviewing in my mind cleaning hyd.strainer and remembered how the hose was extremely soft, so I wondered if it could be collapsing or sucking air. I just ordered parts from Sid's. When able will replace and let you know out come. Thanks

I thought I was the only one too! I bought tractor very used and had sat in field from 2010 until 2014, not running.

Sally
The pulsing or jerking while raising the 3point & loader does point towards the pump being starved for oil. If sat for four years unused you may have flushed some crud out of the system possibly clogging the suction strainer & or filters. A soft suction hose could also be collapsing like you stated. Just replaced the one on my 5 year old tractor due to showing signs of cracking. Easier to replace now than middle of winter....

I do not know where the relief valve is on your tractor. For reference the relief should be the first valve or block that the pump pressure line connects to. On some tractors the is the loader valve on others it is a block on the transmission.

Hi everyone, update on Branson hydraulics. I changed oil, cleaned hyd. strainer (it really was not too bad),replaced hyd.filter with Branson OEM hyd.filter. replaced o-rings on hyd.strainer metal housing, replaced hose and clamps that attach hose to strainer housing.Retraced all hyd. hoses. It was a SUCCESS!! Loader works great, 3 point is great. It has taken me from March until now September to address all the hyd.issues. Thanks for everyone's help, ya'll were right it was sucking air. Also where should oil level be in sight glass when hot, I think I read somewhere it should be half way between the 2 red lines.THANK YA'LL !! sallyb

I forgot to add I did have connections crossed on loader for functions, don稚 know why I did.I know raise and lower are on left side of control valve. I am going to put my deserter valve back on , I like my thumb on loader. So, Everyone was right again. Thank Everyone! Sallyb
