Branson 2400 transmission help

I have a 2015 "00" series bought used. While working one day I heard a pop and the shifting lever started moving freely while in reverse. I shut it off and now it will not start. After much research, I found that the main shift arm is broken. I got the new part in and back in place but the shifter still moves freely and will not shift into any other gear. I have drained the fluid and inspected the gears, all look good with very little to no wear marks. I am at a loss and hope someone here can help me out.

I am not sure if you've gotten this resolved or not by now, and I'm not familiar with that model, but some of the transmissions have a shift fork inside the transmission where one side can brake off and not slide the gears, sometimes the roll pin itself can shear and cause it not to move the shifting fork as well. When this happened on one of my other brand tractors, it required me to split the tractor at the rear transmission.
