Tractor
LS R4047
I just purchased my first tractor with loader and back hoe. I settled on an LS R4047. I hope I enjoy it as much as I think I will. I didn't shop around for comparison. I'll probably sell my current Farmtrac 435. It's a good tractor but it doesn't have the loader or power steering so I can't add one. I'm anxious to read comments from other LS owners.

Welcome to TBN. As a former FarmTrac owner, I'm sure you are going to enjoy the experience with your new "toy". A number of the folks here recommended that I keep my FarmTrac, but it was giving me too much grief to be worth keeping as a backup. With that said, it sounds like yours isn't a problem, just lacking attachments.

Anyway, good luck with your new beastie and enjoy the folks on TBN.

Thank you Doug P.
My farmtrac is an "04" with 130 hrs. so no problems so far. Since the company is no more, It may be more practical to keep it for a back up than to get what I can for it, which may not be much. I can still get parts if needed but I don't know for how long. If I can't get at least $5000 I'll just keep it.

Gotcha, mine was a 2007 FarmTrac 535 w/fel and 110 hours. They gave me $3500 on trade and have it on their lot now listed at 7K. It may be a bit tough to get 5K for it, but ya never know.

My dealer wouldn't take my trade because they're small and have little cash flow but she said if she had the 435, she'd ask 5k. I may not get it though. I wish I'd known about your 535 w/fel before I bought the LS, that's what I wanted but couldn't find one, I could have saved a ton of $. I did get the sub-frame mounted back hoe though.

Nah, you did the right thing. I wouldn't have traded mine if it had not been giving me grief and I felt that the dealer (who was a former FarmTrac dealer) would at least make it right before selling it. I wouldn't want to have sold it to somebody and had it give them trouble.
