i am turning some relatively rocky ground to prepare a food plot. I see that a box scraper has "teeth" to break up the soil. Would the box contain stones and debri ?

The box blade is good for moving material and filling in low spots but will not separate stones and debris. Once the surface material is loose, use a landscape rake.

Not sure I understand the question but yes, whatever the teeth break up, soil, stone, debris would also be dragged along until you raised the box. If you put the 3 pt control in the float position and drive over a depression it will also deposit some material.
