I have been looking at several, and wondered about the fact that the 3ph has no down pressure, to these work well? Or do you just use the weight of the tool to do the work? Just does not seem right, since I used to run heavy eqpt. years ago.

The weight of the implement is all that is needed. I run a 4' box blade and 5' straight blade. I have never needed to add any weight to the implement.

Yep, blade weight and angle of cutting edge or scarifiers, (top link length), does the trick.

Pete,

You can change the angle of the cut, using the top link, so that the cutting edge actually slices off and lifts the material. With my heavy 4 foot BB I have no problem filling it, getting enough traction to pull it is my problem. With my RB I mostly am moving snow or leveling out loosened dirt, so it also is not a problem. You can check out what mine look like in the links in my signature.

There are times that I would like some down pressure, but remember the old cable dozers also just used weight to get the job done.
