I have an old box blade and no rippers. I want to buy some but can't figure out what holds them in. There are no pin holes near the slots but there are 2 pin holes about 1/3 in from each side at the top.

Most likely uses notched shanks with a bar that has the wedges welded to it.

Thats how my box blade is. Hard to see in this picture, but might give you an idea.

My rippers push up through their holes from the bottom. A pin goes through to keep them from dropping out. The pin is held in place with a hairpin clip.

My United brand from back in 1990 had one long 1/2" or 5/8" diameter rod that spanned the width of the box blade. The scarfiers each had height adjustment holes that rod fit thru. So you "kebab'ed" the rod from the side, thru a hole in the frame, all the scarfiers, and another hole in the frame's other side.

Places like agri supply have the different teeth and bars in stock. All the pictures in the world won't teach you what is hardened what is available what fits your needs and let you touch it. The slots have a tolerance, too small they jam, too big they jam, where the teeth will fall.
