My box blade that came with my tractor is about 1' shorter than the with of my wheels (6" each side). From reading the posts, I should have one that covers the tire tracks.

All I want to use it for is smoothing out a horse training area and my and my churches driveways.

What is the downside to a slightly too short box blade? Should I upgrade or am I okay with what I have?

Thanks

Two downsides are that a shorter boxblade takes longer to do the job, and that you leave tire tracks behind.

If you are trying to put a crown in a gravel road, I would guess that the blade not hanging out past your tires could be a bit of a problem... especially at the edge of the road, if there is a ditch there.
