Compare weights on BB if you can. BB are usually one of those things you can look at and tell how HD is is from the thickness of the steel etc.
I have a landpride with hyd rippers that is very heavy and well built but, I also have a unknown brand 8 ft'r thats not as well built thats done everything ive wanted it to do that was 1/5 the cost of the landpride.

So since I haven't seen it asked yet: what would be the intended use of this box blade?

I ask as I've recently re-relearned that some of the lighter/cheaper ones do actually have their usefulness (for example: spreading, or gathering already loose material) -- if it's of quality construction, and was built to roll the material (with appropriate curves/bends to do so). The weight per foot really becomes more of a consideration for use where the material being moved isn't already loose, and the box blade will need to loosen as well as roll the material.

Box blade stuff, I guess.

Regrading parts of my mature lawn once I install new drainage, fixing neighbor's gravel and dirt driveways, whatever else I can think of.

In that case I'd agree he recommendations of going with a heavy, well built one are right on.... and the only brands I haven't seen already mentioned are:

Monroe Tufline Tufline | Well Built, Performance Driven Implements
Titan Implements Titan Products
and the King Kutter models that Rural King offers
Implements | Box Blades | RK Tractors

The latter two look to be a slightly lighter than I'd personally like, but I'm also have to deal with a relatively high clay content loam (so considering getting a heavier-per-width EA floating gate box blade). However, I'd think all three are worth considering along with the other brands mentioned. Just for clarity the only box blade I've used is the 6ft EA Category I & II Severe XTreme Duty Tractor Box Blade - Everything Attachments ...which has worked well enough that their wait times are understandable (as well as their moving to a larger production facility).

..and just to muddy the water a bit if the regrading of the lawn won't involve more than back-filling trenches, it might be possible to do by back-dragging with the bucket -- which would open the options up to include either a land plane (optimized for fixing roadways) or rear scrape blade (which works well where spilling around the ends isn't an issue -- or is actually desired).

Personally I tend to appreciate the utility of a heavy scrape blade as that's what was primarily used by my grandfather to maintain the family road back in Minnesota. Whether it was removing snow, or re-grading the sand/rock/gravel to eliminate washboarding, and reshape/reclaim material from the shoulder the scrape blade he had was got used to good effect. However, when it comes to ripping up stuff (to include vegetation) and dragging dirt from one spot to another it's hard to beat a box blade as a single 3pt implement.

I'd have ordered the EA box blade by now if he wasn't on a 12 week wait (and that's a maybe according to whomever I talked to there)

Just bought a CK4010 HST (came with a loader, backhoe and rotary butter) and a Box Blade is my first needed implement. I called EA and they're 10-12 weeks lead time on anything they sell so I'm looking for suggestions on alternative brands. I'm looking for a fixed tailgate unit, 72". I want something quality so not really looking at the Tractor Supply type brands unless there is one you'd recommend.

Thanks in advance.

Last Summer I was going to buy some equipment from them and they were 6-10 weeks out from being able to process my order as well. Sorry to hear they are even further out now. Not sure how a small operation stays going with times like that. I ended up buying a Land Pride box blade also and it was extremely well built. I've had an EA box blade and grapple in the past and they were excellent. But when you need an attachment, there aren't a whole lot of people out there who can wait 2-3 months for it. When you need it, you need now.

We stay going because of increasing demand and we stay behind because demand has grown faster than our ability to build the product...

This was written by Ted a couple of months ago and posted in the Everything Attachments Channel group.

Good morning to all the EA group. I just wanted to share a little bit about how lead times are working...
I know this is a painful subject but needs to be addressed. Growing pains are real and they hurt both of us. We lose orders and our valued customers are not getting what they need when they need it. There was a day a few years ago when we had a pile of attachments and just hoped we could build the EA brand up to sell them. I will never cut corners to be able to keep up production or make it easy to build. I have been using every attachment we build from many of the best brands from the time my dad would let me on a tractor. Besides the lawn mower when I was about 6 years old, my first start was on a YM135 Yanmar in 1972. I was 8 and loved it. Through the years, I destroyed many attachments and 3 point hitch parts at my dads expense. Now, it is my goal to build the best attachments on the planet so you guys don't have to worry about destroying them. This does not mean they cant be bent or destroyed if not used correctly, but we engineer them to have the best design for the intended use. It is our intention to make them out perform all others and be as affordable as possible.

The sad thing is... We have the equipment and just paid for the old factory we were leasing that is just sitting full of lasers and every thing needed to do twice as much, BUT WHERE DO WE FIND GOOD SKILLED WORKERS THAT WILL WORK. ?? There is little room to train a worker to make YOUR attachments to our standards. It seems no one these days wants to work. We are constantly hiring at Everything Attachments, but between people that can't do the job and won't come to work, that is our biggest challenge. We start no one below 15 dollars per hour and most make 20 plus plus.

I LOVE MADE IN THE USA, BUT IT IS A REAL CHALLENGE. MY GOAL IS TO SAY IT WILL SHIP IN LESS THAN 3 DAYS. We will not quit till we get there. I have been working harder than ever in my life to 6 AM till 4 or 5 PM then go home a think the rest of my day on how to fix this great problem. Thanks to all of our awesome EA CUSTOMERS!!!
Ted Corriher.

How it begins...

Flip any box blade over and compare it to this. Check out the triangular bracing, horseshoe plates of steel under the tube and plate added to the leading edge for wear resistance.

The best USA tubes are laser cut and welded by people inside our factory.

Very strong ripper shank attachment points. It isn't as cheap or easy as most others, but it is stronger.

20190610_163058s.jpg

Welded hitch is also more expensive to make, handle and ship for us, but no corners are cut.

20190627_160953s.jpg

Strong, solid, continuous welds. This is art.

20190702_165046s.jpg

We build them and we use them.

20190528_163028s.jpg

Another big reason for our being behind. Around 300 people are in line for a Wicked Root Rake Grapple at any given moment.

I hope this helps to explain the situation we're dealing with. We understand if you can't wait, but, all the time, people tell us that the wait was well worth it.

I can't quite understand why the immediate need for a box blade.
Poor planning on the part of the buyer?
EA stuff is SO well made,....... it is definitely worth waiting for.
