Where I live we have access to an old railbed which over time has two tire tracks packed down in the center by quads, pushing all the gravel to the sides, as well as a middle hump. I am waiting for the snow to go, and was planning on pulling all the gravel from the side back in, hence the desire for an offsetable rear blade, or something similar that would work, that way I don't have to drive my tractor on the shoulder, but can still drive in the center and pull the gravel back in.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a used offsetable 6 foot rear blade to pull behind my tractor with no luck in my area. When I was speaking to my cousin about this, he suggested just getting a piece of steel cut and bent at a 45 to bolt onto the side of the box blade to pull the gravel in from the side. Is there a reason this isn't done?

Why don’t you get a 8 foot blade and tilt it so it’s catching gravel on the outside of the bead and the blade is raised on the inside?

A much longer blade would be angled enough to do that, but then I have to store a large blade someplace and not sure the cost on that in my area for one that's heavy enough but not too heavy.

Make this style, with width and weight designed for either ATV or tractor. It should cut the center hump and pull in side material.

We have an old rail bed that runs through our camp. I have a piranha tooth bar and it is not easy to scoop the slag because it is packed so tight and there are lots of roots that have grown into it. A box bale wouldn’t touch it. Hopefully, the rail bed you speak of has loose enough slag that a box bale can collect some material.

Everything on the edges and the middle hump is loose and can be moved, that's why I was thinking an offsetable back blade angled to the center and offset, or if it was possible to get a steel plate bent and bolted to the edge of the box blade.

If I have this correct in my mind, you are just thinking of installing a wing on the side of the box blade that is angled forward to catch the loose and pull it towards the middle of the road. Similar to what a rear blade does. If so, I`m not to sure that would work to well. I think the wing would fill up quickly once the gravel hits the side of the box blade and you would have to continually keep dumping the wing of the box blade. I know you mentioned you couldn`t find a off set rear blade but Would an off set landscape rake work for moving the loose gravel.

Ideally the wing would pull the gravel into the box and then be distributed evenly.

A landscape rake would work, assuming it has the weight and can offset to stick out approx two feet past the tire so I can keep driving in the center.
