Bought an MTL Root grapple

/ Bought an MTL Root grapple #21
I just picked up a 48" root grapple from MTL on Friday. Ordered my diverter kit yesterday, ships today.
I can't wait to use this thing. I have cleared and am in the process of clearing some land and I think this thing is going to be invaluable getting everything piled up. Can't wait to use it!!

What third function kit are you installing? Let me know how it goes. I am most likely going the MTL route shortly. Thanks!

I was looking hard at MTL. Decided I'd bite the bullet and order the 66" X Series Rock Grapple and the X Series Tree / Post Puller. Called them up and promptly discovered they would not ship to Canada. Pity, eh? Back to the drawing board.
It seems like there is a consensus on TBN that Titan products are not worth much consideration. Thoughts on that?

Look into tomahawk attachments. A guy here has one with a Massey 4707 and loves it. Seems well priced and USA made (if that matters to a Canadian ;-)

Hey just realized you said rock grapple.. I haven’t looked to see what that looks like, this company makes some but not a ton of different grapples..

I bought the 60" root grapple and been loving it.
Glad I didn't bother getting a wider unit. I really don't think there would be any benefit on my tractor.

Same here Spudman on the 60". I like that I can still get in the woods in a lot more narrow spots to pick up logs and debris.

I've learned (and taught my wifey) that piling trimmed branches and logs is as much an art form as picking them up without leaving scraps behind. :)

Just hooked up my 66" Rock grapple last night. Very impressed with the construction of it. Fist chance to use the 3rd function controls as wellMTL.jpg

Looks great! I wonder how well it would do digging some stumps or larger rocks out of ground?

Which LS is that? How do you like it?

Its an XU6168. Got it a few weeks ago and seem like it has rained nearly every day - its too muddy to do much yet, I have only about 14 hours on it. It seems great but I have little in the way of comparison. The five minutes i played with the grapple it took some decent rocks out of the ground ( and that was when I was trying to pick up a log LOL)

I get to hopefully get out there this weekend again and use mine, I really used the grapple a few weeks ago an no issues at all, seems very strong and well enough constructed
