boom pole

Yes, the 5083 is Category 2, and I had to go on the JD site to make sure. I measured a heavy duty boom pole back during the summer, but I cannot find the measurements. I am going to take me 1860g to the Kubota dealer Tuesday. If it is still there, I will take some measurements. While I am there, I am going to price a Bush Hog. I sure hope he don't get upset over me buying a John Deere.

Can someone give me some measurements for a boom pole for a JD 5083E. That would be the width at 2 pin hookup and the riser height where the third pin goes. I may make up one out of 2x4 wood just to get an idea. I plan on building this out of 3" schedule 80 pipe with the 2 side braces made from oil field drill stem pipe.

I would appreciate any help.

made out on old boat trailer tongue. 4"x2" galvanized tube. Boom is 8', up right is 30" with plate for 2 different pin settings. Base of upright is bolted onto a draw bar. Brase to boom pole are 1" galvaized water pipes. Stiffener on top is 1/2" round stock.
