I just happened to notice that there is a boom float Detent on my Kubota R510 mounted backhoe. I never noticed it, and see it doesn't stay locked in. Probably worn.

What is that good for? I have never had a case, where I thought, oh, I wish this had float.

Is that a normal feature on a back hoe?

Thanks

I have found that when cleaning the bottom of a trench it is helpful. Float the boom and just pull in the dipperstick and adjust the curl to keep the bucket flat on the bottom of the trench.

Yes. Or skimming the ground.
