Bobcat 753G
Hello, My name is Lu I recently purchased a Bobcat 753 G for our farm. We have been using various tractors but felt it best to get something that can clean out paddocks as well as fit into the shelters for cleaning. We are now getting ready for snow. I have one set of chains to use. Is it best to put on back or the front? We have some flat as well as inclines that will need plowing to get from house to barn and paddocks. I was just wondering which would work best for my one set. Or should I get a second set? Thanks for your advice.

I would get another pair. The trouble with skid steers is the ridgid frame. Unless your machine is on a flat plane, there is usually one tire actually off the ground, and the other (diagonally) tire is very light leaving you (basically) with 2 wheel drive. Dont get me wrong, I love my SS and use it over the tractor for snow plowing, but usually chained up on all 4.

Thank you for your reply. I will consider buying another set. Meanwhile we have a storm coming in on Saturday and I will not have the 2nd set in time. I will probably put the one set I have on the rear tires which should help some.
