Bobcat backhoe safety chain?

The pictures I see of bobcat backhoes mounted on bobcats have a chain on the base of the frame. The 709 I bought has this chain and a slotted bracket to hook it in. Am I right in assuming this chain is to be wrapped around the QA plate of the bobcat and the bottom of the frame of the backhoe attachment?

Thanks that's what I figured. I have ordered an operator manual from the dealer.

As you probable suspected the chain keeps the hoe on the SSL in the event the locks fail or are forgotten. There was a few injuries from hoes rolling back and pinning the operator against the cab. There was a recall on early 709's to install a flow valve on it to only allow operation of the hoe when firmly attached to the SSL. Your new hoe may have this.:thumbsup:
