Blower Paint

Can anyone recommend a heavy duty paint that can be used to spray a snow blower?

I don't have any personal experience with this stuff, but some folks have mentioned POR-15 for the business side of mower decks and on snow plow moldboards. If it holds up in those environments, I would think it would be a candidate for your blower, too.

which end do you want to paint? what is its current condition now?

If the metals good, than just go to Deere and buy their paint. Its very good esp considering the price/gal. I think Valspar makes it for them (not100% on that)

If the metals rough and you want to try to get something to stay on in the auger section, than POR would be a better choice. Bearing in mind its much more money, and can go chalky from UV if left unprotected. In practice though that hasnt been an issure for me.

If you decide to use John Deere paint, go to Lowe's and buy Rustoleum Farm Paint labeled John Deere Yellow. They have it in spray and brush. A lot better coverage than the JD paint. :thumbsup:

Interesting, i find the deere paint to be higher quality than the Rustoleum. Plus it will actually DRY this century
