I'm not overly impressed with the glow plug set-up in my BX2230. This morning, with temps in the 40's, I had to glow plug it twice to start him.

I've searched and it appears I can only use an in-line coolant heater, but I prefer a block heater.

Has anyone installed a block heater in this model, if so can you provide a part number and freeze plug location.

Thanks very much!

I had one installed a year ago. I was worried about leaks, so I hauled it to the shop. Took about 20 minutes. I don't have a part number though. But I love it. When it was below 0, my garage was mid 20's. I'd open the hood and there was a wave of warm air off the block after an hour.
Edit: Oh yeah, it was installed on the left side, somewhere between 1st and 2nd cylinder if I recall. I'll have a look when I get home.

Quick search says that the part number for the BX2230 block heater is 70000-00771. Looks like it has 25mm or 1 inch threads per the pictures.

NOTE: I do NOT know first hand that this fits your tractor though.

Put this one in my BX2230 Kubota #70000-00771 says they have 11 in stock .

The newer Kubota #70000-00297 says in description NOT FOR BX2230. Not sure what changes were made but the BX2230 2350, 2370,2380 are all using the D902 engine. They are now saying to use the one in the radiator hose which I do not like heating air.

Only real difference is the old one is one piece and the new one screws into an adapter and does not go into the block the proper distance

I say get one of the old Kubota #70000-00771 at Messicks if you can.

Thanks folks!
I looked at mine tonight and unless I take off the cowling, it is buried. I'm remembering the mechanic tapped mine in using a large socket. But I could be wrong.

Watch out removing the freeze plug. There was a thread last year about someone who drilled out the plug and put a whole into a cylinder. My 3350 has a screw in heater and when it’s below zero it starts right up with about an hour of heat. A thought about your hard start in mild weather....have you used power service on your fuel? You might have water that is causing hard starting and power service or something like that might help.
