Mowing Blade won't Engage

I turn my John Deere L120 but the blade will not engage can anyone give me some info. on what to do or check?

I would check the seat switch first, the blade cannot engage if you are not on the seat. Then check the belt if you have not cleaned the clippings from under the pulley shields the belt likes to pop off the clutch pulley. I bought a used one and the stuff was so packed in there I was surprised it turned at all.

Thank You for the reply. But that didn't work either. I'm going to trace the wires and hopefully I can find the problem. I probably won't be able to get back to the forum any time soon.
