Cat Driver, do you really believe that MOST people would rather sit around and be supported?

I know I am somewhat isolated from mainstream America but I always thought most normal people took pride in supporting themselves and a job well done. I sure get that feeling from the folks here on TBN but maybe TBNers arent normal:D

Sir, I believe you are correct - only, "normal" is not the majority in the U.S. anymore.

If you give lazy people everything and expect 1/3 of population to pay for it then all you have to do is hope you can muster up enough lazy uneducated people to come vote for you cuz they know your their meal ticket and the 1/3 who pay dont have enough voice to outweigh the others

Maybe it is time we start to draw together and voice our opinions but then again when the vote is between a turd and a puke who is the best to vote for?;)

There are almost always more than 2 candidates for any office, and many times they are better than the main party candidates. If more of us would "waste" our vote for those third party candidates maybe our votes wouldn't be "wasted"

Birth Control ... Whats your thoughts?

None.

At my age I'm more worried about things I have some control over.....

When the American people realize that we can vote ourselves entitlements, our nation will fail. I fear it's already started.

Back on track... I have 5 children. They aspire to be scientists, doctors, farmers and wives. To those of you who are worried about population control, which ones should I not have had?

The US has been feeding the 3rd world while at the same time it has tried to limit the availability of birth control. (Bush) This way it has helped to ensure a supply of cheap labor for outsourcing businesses. When birth control is readily available, family size decreases and the population stabilizes and declines to match the resources of the family and country. (That is bad if you are looking for cheap labor.)

I don't know TCreeley...I do not think availability limits to poor countries is a planned thing like a big conspiracy. I think the drug manufacturers want to sell their drugs for the most profit, therefore countries more advanced have the money to pay more. If you had a product, you would try to sell it at the most profit margin wouldn't you? Opinions?

I gotta tell you. I don't care how many children people have. I just do not want to pay for them. I am fed up with paying for other peoples benefits in general. I have low demands in my life. I do not need or want fancy junk but I am tired of paying for other peoples, often indirectly. E.G. I may not pay for their Escalade but if I am paying for their health insurance they now have more money to spend on a car.
IMHO

-Pass out the birth control- make it the norm. I am so tired of encountering teens who are pregnant and think it is their civic duty to have the child- no resources- dooming the child to a possible life of misery. Pass out the birth control and there may be a little less misery in this world.

Plenty of birth control is available. The common sense, peer/parental pressure is lacking. Then the poor judgement is reinforced by short term socially provided fanancial gain.

The teens I see pregnant rarely see a doctor- only after, and parents are poor and the teens are always broke...so no birth control use. Needs to be dispensed at the middle school level to start with.
You are right about the common sense peer/parental pressure lacking. The teens are proud of being pregnant- like they just got something and are showing it off.
