1997 770 John Deere
Retired Facilities Engineer that likes to operate my tractor on my small farm located in central North Carolina. Now my tractor is giving me a fit. TRACTOR RUN GOOD FOR AN HOUR THEN ACTS LIKE IT IS RUNNING OUT OF FUEL, I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL FILTER, DRAINED THE TANK, PUT IN NEW FUEL, CLEARED THE LINES FROM TANK TO FILTER SYSTEM. IT RAN GOOD FOR ABOUT ANOTHER HOUR THE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AGAIN, FINALLY GOING DEAD. IF I LET IT SET FOR A LITTLE WHILE IT WILL CRANK AND RUN FINE FOR ANOTHER HOUR... HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM?

Bill, welcome to the forum!!! I had something similar with one of my Kubota's. Turned out to be junk in the fuel tank that would occasionally block the output hole. On mine the fuel filter holder is clear and I could see it run out of fuel at the filter. It had to be before that point. Blew out the fuel line, drained that tank and added some sea foam cleaner. That seems to have worked.

Now if you are not running out of fuel at the filter it starts sounding like an injection pump issue. I sure hope not, they can get pricey.

Post your question in the John Deere forum where more owners of 770's hang out.
