BH stabilizer claws

I’ve done what you suggested before. Well actually I stuck a slab of broke concrete under it with the thumb but adding support under the stabilizer is far more dangerous than if the stabilizer was big enough to start with. With the support under the pad you run the risk of sliding off the support and toppling the machine.

Ease off on the stick and boom, take lighter cuts

Yep. And with a little operator finesse you can "fling" it a couple more degrees.

This subject is where an excavator shines.

If you’re loading on a truck the excavator would be the clear winner. If you don’t have that option and need to pick the dirt up again and move it 100 feet away the excavators victory is short lived.

Definitely. My most common use of an Excavator is installing road culverts. They shine there!!! Have the grader onhand with front dozer blade to assist in trench filling. Great combo.
