You guys better be sitting down because you won't believe this. We had some water infiltration into the basement last winter/spring because of the huge piles of snow from last winter followed by rain. So we've talked to a contractor about digging around the foundation, sealing the outside of the block walls and putting in new drain tile.
I thought everything was all set to have the work done by the contractor and my wife says to me, can we put a backhoe on the BX1850 and with that and the loader you could dig out some and save us some money!!
I'm thinking yes! More seat time.
So she calls our local Kubota dealer, the Kubota Kings at Seybert's in Coldwater, MI and the owner (a good friend of hers) tells her that Kubota doesn't recommend a backhoe for the BX1850...but he's got great deals on the BX25D right now.
Long story short, I'm getting a BX25D on Monday!
So, therefor, I nominate my wife for the Best Wife Award!

Well not to take anything away from your amazing wife. My wife was trying to get me to upgrade to a B2650 because it was my birthday and she thought it would be more stable on our hills. I gave it a lot of thought but just couldn't let go of my tricked out BX2360 (still have more tricking out to do). But I agree your wife is in the running for best wife award. Enjoy the upgrade!

Well getting a backhoe is great and your wife is very thoughtful about wise spending. I would suggest that if you have not ran a backhoe in a while or never, that you get out back and do some practicing digging with it prior to trying to dig up against your house basement wall. It would be very easy to knock a few holes in it if you aren't skilled at operating it.

Heck ... mine would just hand me a shovel and say "get to it" ....

Holy mackerel! I have to invent similar "capers" to justify equipment purchases to my wife. I'd probably faint if she came at me with one of those long involved capers on her own.

I've two mowable areas in Mississippi (16 miles apart), a $150 TSC push mower and an aching back. My wife has suggested several times I get a riding mower.

I'm still trying to turn that suggestion into a tractor implement.

Just do as they do buy it hide it and when she finds it oh that I've had it forever.
