I always buy the cheap stuff, but I used some of that Echo Black Diamond at my buddy's house and it's pretty awesome. Holds up real well.
Looking for the best string trimmer string.
I am using some krinkly string but it does not unwind well at all. Stuff was made in Georgia.
So from the posts it seems that many folks have spare spools. Do the majority of folks that have spare spools find it a challenge to restring the spools and that is why or is there another reason?
My string head has a dual spool (two separate lines vs the single line spool) and I always have two spare lengths of string in my rear pocket for restringing so I don't have to return to the truck. When I run out of string it takes me less than 2 minutes from engine shutoff to restart with a fully loaded spool after winding both sides of the dual spool and reinstalling on the head. I run on the larger spool about 130 inches of string (10+ feet) on each of the two spools so I rewind 260 inches of string each load.
My Stihl shop has a practice spool station for folks to learn how to restring a spool head. I kind of laughed but they said many folks have a real problem. I have never been able to ask anyone what is it that they have a problem with.
Thus I will ask you folks. What is the re-string issue that bothers you or makes it a challenge.
