I'd say the guy (wgirvine) has had some serious issues in his own life which he has dragged into that forum, none of which was relevant to the OP's questions. The OP was polite, and nothing she said warranted wgirvine going off on her like that. All it sounded like to me was she was concerned her b/f was going to spend a lot of his own hard earned cash needlessly on the pos jeep and wanted to see if her view of the situation was shared by others. I'm sure if the OP had said "My good buddy" in stead of "my b/f", wgirvine's answer would have been totally different. If she had been anything like what wgirvine would have us all believe she is, it's highly unlikely she would have even posted the question in the first place.

I totally agree.

I would say that he 'is' or 'was' going thru the same thing with a girlfriend. Or maybe his dreams were dashed by a girlfriend that coerced him into doing things he didn't want to do, then got pregnant, and now he's having 'buyers remorse'.(kinda sounds like it)

Just some things to ponder, because we'll never know.
