I should have done this a long time ago, however, I am getting ready to close a deal on an L3430HST with loader. Do any of you know who's got the best deal around Michigan, Indiana, Illinois or Ohio or even further if it will save me a bundle? Thanks

First of all, let me just say that that's one heck of a machine you've picked out for yourself. I looked at a LOT of tractors before I decided on a Grand L.
If you have any doubts at all about whether that's the exact right model, feel free to ask for advice based on your intended uses. There is a LOT of experience on this site ... a REAL lot.
For instance, bear in mind that the 3830 isn't just an extra 4HP; it's a slightly bigger tractor. Of course you can't get a cab in a 3830, god only knows why. And if you're getting a cab; even though I "bleed orange", I'd have to urge you to at least look at the JD Twenty series.
I feel compelled to give you your due credit though, so assuming the 3430HST is "the" machine, here's what I'd advise you to do. Figure out EXACTLY what you want on the tractor - tires, type of bucket, cutting edge, block heater, Quick Attach, the works; then contact 3, 4 or 5 dealers, tell them EXACTLY what you want, and ask them to give you their one-time, one shot at it, BEST price, period. Tell them you're not going to haggle with them, that you know what you want, and you're going to buy it from whoever makes the best offer. You don't have to say you're going to go with the lowest price, because you might not. Other factors might well come into play. Just get them to sharpen their pencils, and then don't beat them up.
There's a really good thread that you might want to read called "Dealers on this site and cheap customers". It's ALL about haggling; how to, when to, and when not to. Good stuff.
Lastly, I'd strongly recommend getting the 723 loader; might as well, the machine can handle it no sweat.

I did have the JD dealer deliver a 3520 to my house I used it for a whole day. I have 10 acres and I will use the tractor at home. anyway I almost tipped the JD over 3 or 4 times, even when I just went to turn in a circle, the guy form JD says that it was because it didn't have loaded tires. I like both machines but it seems the kubota is more stable, maybe he was right, I have no idea. Plus the Kubota is less money.

I was looking at the 3130 or the 3430, then decided on the 3830, the 3830 isn't much bigger, very minimal difference in all dimensions, the tires are bigger though which really helps out with the added hp for pushing through stuff and for stability. I run my 3830 on very steep hills and through very soft mud and have had very good luck so far keeping it on all 4's.
Hi - I, too, need advice on price, and maybe the right model for me, too. I have a price for a L3400 HST, with LA463FL loader and Woods BH80-x backhoe, of 25,080 before tax. Does this seem right?
Also -- I have ten acres with a pond and need a tractor for fence posts, moving piles of dirt, gravel, etc., planting trees and shrubs, moving wood, dragging trees -- but nothing commercial, all just my own grounds. Is the L3400 or 4400 strong enough or should I be looking at the L39?

Just a few thoughts: I'd like to see you with more loader than the 463. The L4400 gets you the 703 loader, but the 723 loader that comes on the L3130/3430/3830 has a lot better specs, especially rollback angle.
If you're thinking of an L39, I'd just encourage you to also check out the L3430 or L3830. HST is awfully nice on a CUT, and the L39 comes with GST, which is also a very nice tranny - it's just not HST. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
