I bent the outer tine on my titan root grapple. Ideas on best way to fix?

If the weld not crack I try heating slowly bent in place.

It's your lower lid that's bent - - correct. Is it really having a negative effect on the grapple operation. If it's not - leave it alone.

I agree. If not causing a problem leave it alone

All of the above. If it isn't causing a problem, leave it. If it is, then heat as noted and a bunch of leverage to bend it back to shape.

I would bend it back and add more steel in there some how. The next time it bends it could break off or bend so far back it even more difficult to repair.

I agree on if it doesn't affect its operation then leaving it is an option, although it might keep bending and getting worse so probably not the best options ... I don't think this would be easy to bend back to place contrary to some think, the round tube at the bottom will give you issue to bed back it will probably kink compromising its integrity and it is a big area to heat up ... the bend start before the second last ''spike'' ... the way I would fix it is by cutting off the last tube at the bottom, straighten out the flat bar at the end by heating it up then weld a new tube in place and reinforce both side so it doesn't happen anymore.

Grapple flat on floor

Heavy chain from bent tine to one of the middle tines.

Bottle jack under chain

I looked at my Titan Grapple bottom half. That side plate is .5 X 5.0. The tubing is 1.5 pipe I think with a 1.900 OD. Attached picture. Anybody that says you can heat straighten and or bend cold to make the repair , I will hold my comments on that. The best way to repair would be to cut the pipe loose thru to the 3rd opening. Cut the end tang off at a convenient spot above any of the distortions. I would make a new end tang using some .50 X 6.0 and plus length bar stock. You need the extra width to put the kick up profile on. You can also have the profile burn't from .50 plate. I would butt weld the end tang with 100% weld. The 2nd tang looks bent also. So there you maybe able to bend cold and or heat straighten to correct. The reason I said to cut the pipe at the third opening is so that you can sleeve the repair and do a 100% weld repair in between the 3rd and 4th tangs. The gussets are .25 material. Discard the old ones and make 5 new. Last paint with JD green. I noticed that the lid and or lids did not have a cover plate. When I purchased my grapple there was a lighted weight model with open lids. Maybe that is what you have. What puzzles me is the condition of the loader frame, if it was damaged. I would think after this collision the loaded frame would be tweaked. Let us know.
