Any one know who makes the bolt on belly pan protector skid plate for the Deere 110 TLB ? Thanks for your help.

John Deere has a skid plate option for the 110 TLB. I suspect you could buy it from a JD dealer. I was looking at the 110 a few years ago and seems like it was on the order of an $800 option.

Thank you I am aware it is available through JD dealers. However I am trying to source it at a better cost. If any one knows who makes it for Deere please post. Thank you.:)

I just bought one a couple of months ago. New part number is 704745, I paid $605.00

Here is the info on the manufacturer, not sure if they will sell direct. Good Luck!

available ONLY at DEERE. Soon not available at all because Deere just discontinued the 110TLB tractor due to miniexcavators taking the lions share of the market. SO ORDER NOW OR FORGET IT.:):)

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling they wouldn't sell direct, but it doesn't cost to ask. I worry now that parts and accessories will be going up in price, or not available. One of the reasons I bought the 110 was Deere's reputation for product support. I guess time will tell.

Since I haven't even got 100 hours on it yet in a year's time, I shouldn't be worried about parts!! :ashamed:

Has anyone removed the skid plate for service work? I need to access the check valve on my SCV valve . Any tips?

Thanks

If you can, get the machine on a level spot and on a hard surface (concrete or asphalt) , get a floor jack and try to center it under the skid plate, jack it up so it is just resting on the underside of the skidplate, remove the mounting bolts, and SLOWLY lower the jack, the skidplate may slide if it is not balanced so be careful. Check the valve then reinstall the plate. Good luck....

D Reed, Tags is right on about the floor jack!! I have a flat furniture dolly that I put on the center head of the jack. Only other tip is to make sure to use a alignment punch thru the skid plate holes to help line up the bolt holes. I would put in by hand to make sure to get them started straight. It's easy to cross-thread them if you're not careful.

Good luck!!

Its in my shop and I have floor jacks and a 10K auto hoist so I'm not worried about that part. I can't get the bolts loose. Frozen solid., been soaking in KROIL no for about 12 hours. the 6mm drive socket does not have what it takes to break the bolt free.

Any ideas?

Drew

D Reed,

6mm, that sounds like something different than the skid plate bolt. Not sure, but I was thinking they were about 17 or 18mm heads. Or are you talking about the valve body?

My skit plate has 6 counter sunk allen drive bolts. The bolts requires a 6mm allen drive to remove them. I'm guessing they are counter sunk so they are flush with the skid plate.

OK, mine's different then. It just has regular hex head bolts. I did order it from the dealer, and put it on after my machine was delivered.
Might try an impact, if you want. Maybe a little heat as well, but I know it's not an easy area to get to, maybe just a handheld propane torch?

That's different than what I have. I believe that the bolts are 14mm hex head or so on mine. Recessed allen head could create a situation for "seizing"; I'd guess.

I've seen allen wrench stubs with a socket drive. So, if you could get your hands on an impact driver...

I have raised and lowered big and very heavy belly pans successfully with a couple of cable come-a-longs. The advantages are that it is more stable and less likely to fall off, it is easy to slide on the cable and position it for installation, and one man is able to maneuver even a large and heavy pan.

If you have tried penetrating oil then about the only option is to heat it as hot as you can get it (red is nice) and then let it cool--the temper is lost. The expansion and retraction will pull it loose from the rust. Put new bolts in with "never seize."
