The hydraulic fluid (oil) in our 400A tractor is foaming and spills out through the tank overflow line. I had just added oil and only filled it to 1/2 way in the tank. Is my pump going out, filter plugging up? Hydraulics all work fine but pump does make a noise like it's in a bind when turning the steering wheel. There is an after market loader on the tractor. Dealer did run hydraulics through the outside lever of the 3 valve control levers. In other words that lever has to be in the raised position for the loader to work. We do have plans to run the loader hyd straight off of the pump. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If your hydraulic oil is foamy you have air-entrainment......meaning an air suction leak on the suction side of the pump.......(bad suction hose, bad suction hose connection or a bad shaft seal on the hyd pump)

Fix the suction leak first.
Hydraulics:
Type: open
Capacity: 4.1 gal [15.5 L]
Valves: 2
Pump flow: 11.9 gpm [45.0 lpm]
You could probably install a joystick valve like this.
2 SPOOL COMPACT 10 GPM JOYSTICK CONTROL VALVE
You would run the pump out into the loader valve IN port and run the tank port to reservoir/tank, and the PB OUT to the next valve.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. It is a leak in the elbow on the bottom of the tank to the suction side of the pump. I will have to remove the tank and get it repaired. As for the joystick, that's what I have to operate the loader, but still going through original valve on the tractor. Again, thanks for the input.

If your piping is external, it can be re-routed, for a new path, sonmething like this.
Pump, to loader PB OUT, to remote, to 3pt, to tank.
Your hyd system is an open center hyd system, and all components are in a series circuit.
Your loader relief will now set the relief for the tractor.
