RK55 Shuttle Shift
I love my RK55, but backing up is a little more than annoying. With this size tractor I guess they feel it should have an incredibly loud beep when backing up. I use my tractor on my own property, not for hire. I do not do any kind of commercial work. Does anyone know the best way to disable the backup beeper? I'd love to be able to just add a switch to turn it off or on, though I'm not opposed to just disconnecting it. It's too loud for me to locate it, physically on the tractor (sounds like it's everywhere) and I can't find a wiring diagram to run it down. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Wear earplugs while you look for it. Also, with earplugs in, hold a short pipe to your ear and point it around at the tractor. It will focus the sound.

It’s probably at the back end of the tractor. It shouldn’t be hard to spot it unless they’ve really stepped up their game.

Maybe ask Mike Morgan how he disabled his? I do not recal whether he covered this in one of his vids.

Some beepers had an adjustment screw in them.
Or just unplug it when you find it.

on my skid steer i just went to the speaker in the back of the unit and unpluged two wires. I then neatly taped the wires out of the way and to protect them. it would be easy to re-hook if someone wanted to.

On the Toolcat, I slipped a thin piece of rubber down between the mount and the beeper. Can't hear it in the cab, but still loud enough to warn anyone behind it.

if you are capable of doing electrical work

once you find the speaker measure the resistance of the speaker

solder or crimp in a resistor of equal value in one of its wires - pos or neg doesn't matter

this will cut the voltage to it in half therefore lowering the volume

if still too loud use a larger resister
