I changed the oil in my Beaver the other day and cleaned the filter screen. Then refilled with the recommended amount per the sticker near the fuel tank.....I put in 2.59 gallons. But with the filler hole beside the shifter, how do you tell if there is enough...or if you have a leak how do you know when to add??

Your level plug is on the left side of the transmission about the level of the foot rest. Take the bolt out and fill thru the hole where you've been adding oil until it flows out there. Go to my web site, satohparts.com. Click on the "Parts" button, then on the heading S470 (same trans. case as yours) and you will find a drawing labeled "oil level plug". We sell manuals for your tractor. Call toll free 800-609-5110 Bill Rodgers
