In my humble opinion (please don't flame me), the prettiest tractor is the one you've already got.

Am I being too shallow?

Maybe too honest.

Steve, this is your tractor, not your wife. You can admire other tractors without your tractor giving you any "feedback"! :)

Good point.

AMEN to what Bird said! I love my new Kubota but blue is beautiful.

Wow, it's finally here. The debate has gotten down to looks. I have thought about starting this very debate for some time now, but feared the reprisals. I work in the automotive styling business and the way a product looks is ingrained into my psyche'. I too, am shopping and have looked at all the major brands. I like the New Holland for looks, features, and quality. I like the John Deere for looks and features. This brings me to Kubota. I have done all the research and I believe that Kubota has the edge in technology, features, repair history, and value. That being said. I'll finish with this. Hmmm... /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif The implication there is that Kubota is ugly. It's all in the eye of the beholder, of course, Jerry, but just to clarify my own my own vote -- yes, I think <font color=blue>blue</font color=blue> is an exceptionally nice-looking machine, and thus the winner of this pageant, but I also see the runners-up (<font color=green>green</font color=green> an <font color=orange>orange</font color=orange>) as being pretty easy on the eyes, too.

Then again, I'm one of those who thinks there's no such thing as an ugly tractor.

Harv, imagine my plight. My wife thinks all tractors are ugly....One of them is gonna have to go./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Kevin, that cupholder stinks! /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif Either the cup I put in it falls over, or it won't fit. Finally I went and bought one of those fender mount, (not sure I want to say this), John Deere, cupholders that is very deep and has metal springs inside it to firmly hold almost any size cup. (If you ask me this again, I'll deny it.) /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

As long as you paint the cupholder blue your OK.

"My mother learned to love an ugly baby, maybe I can too"

That does remind me of a Seinfeld episode with the ugly baby. But seriously they are all beautiful down deep. They all work hard, and play hard, some just need more sun screen than the others.

Hi everybody, I am a newly registered member to the TBN and a 1 year old member (approx) over at the CTB. I am the present owner ( well, actually me and JD credit) of a 1988 JD 950 w/ 75 FEL and an Ameriquip backhoe. My ultimate goal is to trade in my JD in the near future (once it is paid for) and shoot for the blue, TC35D. So if you don't mind me throwing my 2 cents worth in, my vote is for the Boomers.

This is a picture of me last year contemplating the decision. At this point John Deere Credit had already approved me and the next step was mine. Do I buy it or not. Do I look like I am in serious thought ?

It might be that I am getting nuttier as I get older but beautiful things scare me. If I was ever in the same room with Elle Macpherson I would probably faint. When it was time for a new truck my "accountant" told me we could afford a new one but I couldn't bring myself to get one. I found a real nice used one. It had A few scraches and there was a stain on the carpet but I didn't do it. Same think with the tractor. I would hate to be the guy who ran a branch through the front grill of a brand new Boomer or knocked off the first light. I'll let someone else cry those tears.

Ok, I'm gonna buck the trend here guys. For beauty alone, with no other factors, I prefer the JD. Something about that green color that just sits right with me about a tractor.

Welcome to TBN Mark.
Where abouts in NH do you live? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Yep you got the look..tractor fever /w3tcompact/icons/love.gif once again and there ain't no. cure. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
Now would you be at Hawkensen dealer in Medit...NH /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif if so you may want to skip over to MB in Tilton NH which is a stone throw and check there tractor lines.

Hi Thomas, Thanks for the warm welcome. I live in Moultonborough and yes! Hawkensons in Meredith is exactly where I bought my tractor. Excellant folks and they have been most friendly and helpfull. MB tractor in Tilton and I are old friends, been there many times. In fact most people will think those puddles in there yard are melted snow, actually it's accumulated drool from my many trips down there to grope and fondle the Boomers. It's tough to hold back and await my purchase of a boomer but I don't have enough equity in to my JD yet. The extra $30 a month I have been adding to my payment is chewing the loan down quite rapidly, but it is going to be at least another year before I can make the move. Patience is a virtue. I may have to start a Boomers anonymous program to get me through the wait. Anyone up for being a sponser ?LOL
Enclosed is a picture of my 950 at work, it is the Very First time I ever ran a backhoe, boy was I nervous with all those homeowners watching me (labor day weekend) and saying, How long is it going to take? When will we get our water back on.
I had to make an emergancy repair to a burst water line at the lake front housing development that I do a lot of work for. I did pretty well, I didn't hit anything or make to much of a fool out of myself. Although it was pretty tempting to reach out with the bucket and drag a couple of the whining homeowners, in his gucci loafers down into the hole. Mark

Hi, I'm another new member and it looks like I have the best of all possible worlds. The gun club I belong to has spent a small fortune each year renting equipment (forklifts, frontloaders etc.) to maintain it's 35 acres of ranges and fields. We also spend a lot on snow plowing and road maintenance. I went out and did some research, looked at JD, NH and Kubota, went over all the specs. I needed a big tractor, the forklift we rented was used to unload tractor trailer loads of clay targets at 1900lbs per pallet. I knew we couldn't justify a tractor just for this, but when I added in what we spent to rent a front loader, get all the ranges and fields plowed in the winter and get the road fixed. Plus, what we spent each year getting the yard tractors fixed or replaced. It was a no brainer. Here's what I presented and the board agreed to buy, a NH TN75 with an FEL, QD Bucket and QD Forks, a 84" Woods finish mower, 84" NH snow blower and a Land Pride rake. All brand new and financed by New Holland with annual payments less than what we where spending for all the rental and services. I (and a few select others) get to use it and the club pays for it. It just doesn't get any better. It will be here in 2 weeks and I can hardly wait.
