Gale, to really have any good effect on your project. You would need to remove the top, inspect the plates and insulators. Then rinse the bottom of collected debris, and refill with clean electrolite...Reseal the tops.... You mentioned golfcar batterys, they might be worth the effort, as the Trojans are quite expensive...still expect 25% sucess rate for your troubles....Jy.

I agree. The best fix for these batteries would be to replace each with their twin but younger brothers for $58 a piece at Wal-mart.
