Battery for a 3505DI

Can some one tell me what size battery goes in my 3505Di ? I bought the tractor used and it has a Champion battery in it and it is dead. I do not know if it is the battery that came on the tractor or an after market. I would like to know the cold cranking amps. I would like to put the right battery back in it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Lawdog, I posted this response earlier in the Owning/Operating forum, so you must not have seen it.

"Lawdog, I was not able to find "Mahindra" in the battery selectors at Exide or Interstate sites, but did find info at URL below showing 88Ah 12v battery. No "group" info though.

Lawdog, I also looked around in Exide under various JD tractors and it looks like 600 CCA is about the minimum battery capacity any of the diesels use.

I would suspect your tractor would carry the same battery as my 3525. Mine has a Group 30H in it. Most 30H batteries have about 600CCA. I would recommend a Group 31 due to the fact that they are more common and are available with up to 1000CCA for about the same price as a 30H. There is only a fraction difference in size and there should be no problems fitting it in.
