This relates to fast EV charging concerns in Germany.

25,638 miles today on EV

$437 of ‘utility power’ (not counting solar generation, which has generated about 2.5MW each of the past 3months)

~1.7c/mi and dropping

Only 4,254 on the truck
~35.7c/mi and climbing

But what did the EV cost compared to a comparable ICE? And cost of Solar setup?

It may decline. But there are so many products out there made from petroleum.

That’s true. Petroleum products used to make vehicle and most everything else we use.

"The U.S does indeed produce enough oil to meet its own needs. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), in 2020 America produced 18.4 million barrels of oil per day and consumed 18.12 million."
For years we've been pumping our own plentiful oil. As mentioned many products from fertilizer to plastics are made from petroleum AS WELL AS POWER PLANTS THAT GENERATE ELECTRICITY to charge EVs!!!!!
EV proponents actually believe there's a magic wand somewhere out there where the manufacture, charging, battery production, tires, etc. doesn't require petroleum, is "green" and leaves no carbon footprint.
Alternative energy sources such as wind, solar, nuclear, etc. also is free energy as well as the manufacture and installation of hundreds of thousands of charging stations with the required grid upgrades to supply/transfer all that needed additional power. Fast chargers will be available everywhere at little or no cost to the EV owner and appear on every street like parking meters and apartment parking spots.
5 minute recharge...no waiting.
Then in the coming years EVs price will drop and there will be no charging price increase or electric bill increases.
All of this without tax increases.
That misconception amazes me the most, more so than the impractability of 100% EV migration of all transportation, cars, trucks, construction equipment, ag equipment, tractors, boats and planes.
Free energy, no petroleum.
I'm completely amazed what people believe.

Canada had a major wifi company ( Rogers) crash for almost 24hrs a week or so ago. So many parts of my Province of Ontario did not have Interac services or cell services, or computer wifi in general. In the aftermath, questions were raised as to what would of happened to self driving cars if this would of occurred. The self driving cars technology experts stated that the cars would of stopped eventually, and or went over to manual driver mode, so that the driver could take over. ......so then we would of had thousands of cars stop in middle of Interstate type highways, and city streets causing chaos, or for some the drivers would of needed to take over hopefully without incident. My further question is..... the technology is excitedly being sold to us for busses and trucking routes. So if manual drivers still need to be in these vehicles to " takeover control" when things go wrong, .....what are these drivers doing and being paid for when things are working well ? But they are still needed as back up safety plan. Seems like a serious oversight .

The oil is produced IN the U.S., but is not produced BY the U.S. Any oil that is produced IN the U.S. is up for bid on the open world wide market.
