Thats why I keep trying to make the point that EV transformation basically shifts all our “energy wealth” to China. We are using their raw materials, their automobile assemblies and batteries and worst of all, were using the solar panels and windmills to recharge them.

Why is it so many sheep just fall in line with whatever the latest dictate tells them to do?
Thank you.

Haydude made a good point I never considered before...

The EV revolution (gales words not mine) does just transfer our wealth to china.

Is this a smart move?

That's been mentioned several times in this thread. It's not that we CAN'T do differently; it's just that we choose not to.
Much of it is because we won't allow the environmental impact which China and other companies incur; which is also why we can't compete in other arenas as well.

I’d say it’s smarter than sending our dollars to a bunch of jihadist supporters in Saudi Arabia.
…then again, China doesn’t buy as much military equipment from the US as they do.

The environmental impact you say??
The environmental impact in China from manufacturing transcends the entire world.
Look at how DuPont polluted the world with PFOAs.
Although primarily released in the USA, PFOAs are found in every continent.

Youd have to be very naive, or willfully ignorant to think shifting manufacturing from onshore to offshore gets rid of pollution.

I know YOU understand that, but there’s a lot of emotion driven people looking at ducks covered in oil that don’t.

I Powered My House with the Ford F-150 Hybrid

With the weather news of the last month this could be a good thing.
No offense, article means nothing. A hybrid, not a pure EV. "7200-watt Pro Power Onboard is a $750 option." I have a 9kW generator I bought for $650 new. Article doesn't mention two important things, running a well for water, furnace for heat (although writer was able to watch TV, iron clothes and brew coffee ).
Our neighbor friends just had a Generac system installed with a 500 gallon propane tank which will run everything in their home for a week.

But you have the cart in front of the horse here, EV isn't the problem, the problem started years ago and we line up and vote with our pocket books. People, not sheep, have been buying up all the inexpensive, none US stuff, they can get their hands on, and unless you are against Capitalism, that's the way it's going to be. That huge shift of wealth started years ago.
But China is not a capitalist society, they use capitalism and the greed that corrupted the western world.

We give them unlimited capital, knowledge and we ends up as a salesman for Chinese products, and we do it with a big smile and no brain.

Oh my….I’m much more afraid of Chinese aggression. Although the obvious body count isn’t there compared to a 9-11 jihadist event, they CCP is very much tied into phentanyl deaths ranging into the 100’s of thousands of Americans.

I’m sure they are just building up their military to confront Norway, right?

Please look at my charts I posted. We (USA) have oil, more if needed. We could be energy independent.

China is exempt since they're in the "no urinating" part of our Earth pool.
