Battery baclwards

Humm interesting!? I remember the days (and still do occasionally have to fill a new one) of filling new dry battery's with acid and they would already be correctly polarized just need a full charge. :confused2:

I have memory's from my working in gas station days as a kid of people attempting to charge a dead battery and having the terms backwards but dont remember what came of it a lot of off gassing stink comes to mind.....

edit: Well I see buy doing some searching yes you can reverse charge a lead acid battery! I learn something new all the time also proves my education is not completed yet!

I am one of the morons who charged a battery backwards! In my youth! At any rate, the battery was left on a charger for an extended period of time, and yes, it got charged backwards. Dad and I used it for years before it finally died a natural death. Just gotta mark it REAL WELL so you won't burn up something delicate.
