Call other companies. Maybe thats normal for your area??? ~45 yards poured and finished around here would only be half that.

But again lacking all the info.....is he doing site prep? Leveling? Trucking in 4" of stone for a sub-base and grading? Tons of rebar??

I have to dig out the side of a hill. I will make it as flat as possible the. He will come in and level it, bring in stone and put in wire. Form up, pour, finish cut and seal.

My 36x48 and 40x50 buildings are both very nice.
Would likely cost $120K to replace them both.
What are they worth on my property?...Zero Minus!
They are essentially storage buildings situated on a $2M+ 12 acre water view piece of property, bordering a 1000 acre wildlife sanctuary.
My children will sell the property, and a developer will pay to have the buildings demolished.

Holy Moley! Dirt is sure expensive where you live.

I spoke with my cement guy yesterday. He asked a lot of questions about what i was putting in there and what i planned to use it for and if my use would change over time. He came put with an estimate of 16,800-17500 for a 6 inch foundation, 40x60.

Does that include site prep? It took 5000 cubic yards of rock to level my building site, driveway and parking lot. Fortunately, I live next to a rock quarry and the neighbor have me his tailings cheap, but hauling and compacting took some big iron. Site work without concrete was $23k. Fortunately, I hired an 86 year old highway contractor who brought in freeway scale equipment. By the time he finished rolling it, you couldn't drive a steel stake into the fill with a 2 lb. hammer. The concrete contractor freaked out. He had to use a 6 lb. sledge to set his stakes.

Concrete is only as good as what it's sitting on.

Yup it sure is!
My mother bought the 12 acres with old house for $875 in 1932.
Depths of the depression...few had jobs or money...she was a single city of Boston school teacher.
My claim to fame is that I lived long enough to inherit it (now in trust for my children).
Area became a highly desirable summer vacation spot, as well a well loved retirement location.
Almost no buildable land available.
A one acre lot in the area, with no water view, can be $250K+.

I still need one. I had planned to have one built around this point but I didn’t plan on Interest rates going up this much. I am not certain what I will do as a temporary solution.

My 40x60 with concrete was $80k…. Amish built
Planned to sell some of the investments that fared so well over the past 5 years, but then the recession hit, and I didn’t want to solidify those losses.

We decided to just cash flow it, and luckily had a blessed year.

After electrical and driveway finishing, we were in the $90ks… it has overhangs, soffit, 9 insulated insulated windows, service door, 16x10 insulated overhead door, opener, insulated walls and ceiling, 18’ porch, 200A service with both 240vac and 120vac, cupolas etc (those are expensive as hell)

Two years ago I priced a 40x60 steel building. It was just too much for this kid. It would have been a shelter for my farm equipment/implements - not the Taj Mahal.

So - I have prioritized my storage. Any equipment with moving parts will be under shelter in one of my carport stalls. Those implements with no moving parts - on pallets out in the orchard.

Neighbor just had some cement flat work done for a driveway. All in was $8/sq ft! He said some flat work he had done last year was $4.

This is in SW Michigan.
