Ballast ballast box filling

   / ballast box filling #11
I currently have mine filled with a collection of medium sized rocks/boulders and then filled in with pea gravel. This allows the water to drain and will let me empty the box out if I want to do something different. I keep an "extra" large boulder that I can set on top if I need the extra 75 lbs or so.

Morning Blackbird.
I went to my dearlership purchase second hand weight for almost nothing than built frame...3pins to hook up plus bumper for protection.

If you have the time and tools build something that's going to last...and last.

That is actually kinda kool looking. I thought about doing something like this, but then I moved and gave away my mig welder.

I had mine for a while filled with free weights the only plus I guess is that I knew how much i exactly had in the box. Downside, it always clanked around and was noisey. I need the weights again for excerise purposes (decided to lift again) so I decided to fill it will portland cement, and I think it gives information on how much it weights after filling with different types of cement. I guess at least 800 lbs with the portland cement which is smoother and heavier than other types....plus side is no more noise and it was cheap to fill. I never use the weight box anymore since I have loaded tires and a backhoe hanging off the back....
