I too find some of the prices to be excessive. Too bad, Kubota would have sold at least two more units (one to me and one to you) if the price had been more reasonable. So instead of paying Kubota's exorbitant price, I bought a $200 leaf sweeper that I tow. Now I can even pick up thatch, which a bagger will ignore.

I suppose it's possible. I have seen some Kubota models that had an additional fan on the mower deck output chute. Maybe that's where some the the $2300+ cost comes from.
I'd like to see an after market company make stuff like that for these CUTs. I wonder if an after market motorcycle company would do something like that?

I have the bagger, but I can honestly say that if my wife hadn't insisted, I would not have sprung for that kind of money. But that was her condition on getting my BX, so how could I argue? Anyhow, the bagger does an excellent job at picking up grass as well as leaves. The blower is indeed run off the rear PTO.
Bottom line from my perspective, it works great but it is a pain in the neck to mount/dismount.

You are correct the bagger does run off the rear PTO. It is shaft drive as well using two right angle gearboxes to get power to the impeller. It works very well keeping up with the large BX mower. My only complaint is the fabric collection bags. For the volume and capacity of the BX I would have preferred a hard clamshell design one could back up and operate to self unload, ahh the GCK600, but it is only available overseas /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
As for alternates the Trac-Vac units are well built and come with either a gas engine or PTO drive. However they cost more than the Kubota unit /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif You could try a tow behind unit like the Swisher

The trick I was shown to dismount was to lower the legs and then push the top towards the tractor to disconnect the top link and then the lowers. Remounting was the reverse. This worked like a charm.
Level ground is a must as well.

Possibly we can find someone overseas that would be willing to ship a few of the European style grass collectors stateside. I would buy one in a heartbeat, but I am not impressed with the design of the 3 bags. I don't understand why Kubota builds a great tractor and then lets down the ball when it comes to the grass collectors.... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
