Bad short across fusible link on LB1914

I've got a direct short that blows the 30 amp fusible link on my LB1914. I have disconnected most all the componenets and then reconnected testing with a test light with each connection. The short shows when I connect the votage regulator multi-pin. Will a faulty regulator cause a short or is there a short in one of the wires in that circuit? Any help would be appreciated.

This is my first reponse to the TBN. I had the same issue with my LB1914 a couple years back and it ended up being the voltage regulator. I was fortunate enough to have a friend that loaned me one for trouble shooting purposes and when it resolved the issue, i purchased it, around $100 if I remember correctly.

Thanks. I was able to diagnose the problem and it was in fact the voltage regulator too. Kioti must have had a weak batch of those things.
