Bird, does it show Hartfield? I'm about 8 miles southwest of there. It should show Saluda - I'm about 8 southeast of there.

How much river frontage do you have?
Tell Bird that you can't get here from there.

Mark, since my last message, I went to my Street Atlas, USA, on CD and found Grafton; about straight north up 708, so now I have a pretty good idea of where you are./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Nice country around there; haven't been too close to your place, but Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, etc.

Bird - Yes, it is pretty country. I really enjoy it. The roads get pretty thick with tourists starting this time of year and lasting until October or so, so there must be something somebody thinks is worth seeing or doing around here. I wish they'd go home, personally. At least I know how the folks in Maine feel when they see my license plate. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Do you own a boat? you have a very nice piece of land --I would love to have some waterfront but out of my price range at this point. After a good rain I have a few hundred feet of waterfront (ditchfront). /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Gordon - I hold firmly to the tenet that a boat is a hole in the water that you pour money into. That said, I have a canoe, and a 15 hp 14' aluminum Starcraft outboard fishing boat. I used to have a 75 hp 18' McKey fiberglass boat, but it was nothing but, um, a hole in the water that I poured money into. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Mark you are a smart man I used to work at a marina and the money hole is right, but it kept us busy. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Mark, I talked to the dealer here and he just got in the light duty models. The HD model in a 6 ft is about $1500 and the light duty model is about $600. He was going to take one of the light duty models home with him and try it out this weekend (after a little rain). Hope it works nearly as well as the expensive one as I would buy the $600 one Monday if he says it works nearly as well.

Mark, like the bumper stickers are starting to say here as the press on housing continues and the freeways are jammed beyond use:

Sorry Bird, the things do look practical. I just wanted to see how far Jim would go before he snaped. The guys got a think skin. I might have to take a serious look at these NH machines to replace my International. I mean Jim is one tough nut. I've hit him hard with the French Blue, outfits, loafers, jumpsuits, San Francisco and he won't budge. Gotta respect that. Rat...

No disrespect aimed at you Bird, but I wish I had a dime for every old man in a jumpsuit that I see at work. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Or a dime for every Airstream that I worked on.
Or a dime for every Monaco that I worked on.
The list could go on and on and on and on and on./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Bird the measurements of your garden outlaw it from being a garden its a small plantation!!!!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
I might have to call the garden police on you and they are worse than the mattress police you know the ones that come if you rip that little label off the end of the mattress./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Paddock,

Warning, warning! I looked at Orange first, mainly from reading the old board. I wonder how many Orange owners go there first and just buy. (Peer pressure never worked on me anyway!)

If you go look at BLUE and look at the specs as I did, you might just end up with the best looking, best working compact made! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Another guy on the board did exactly this, I'll let him tell his own story though! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

We all looked at BLUE and GREEN, but bought ORANGE.

I compared specs on everything very carefully and unfortunately could not find a single thing that BLUE was better than ORANGE in the 65 HP range. I had never even seen an ORANGE tractor up close and was quite familiar with the old FORDS. The New Holland looked closer to Massey Fergusons old designs. In the last go around, they shaped the hoods and fenders kinda nice, but that didn't change the specs at all. Kubotas had the ideal combination that they were small in WB, light in weight (relative when we are talking about fully equipped tractors in the 8000# class) and very strong in HP in the 4WD units. A very nice combination that seems to sell a lot of Kubotas. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

In 1995, I looked at Blue, Green, Red, Orange, and Yellow before buying Orange. Last year, I knew I'd just be wasting time looking at all those other colors before buying a bigger Orange./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Jim, the big, BIG, I mean really BIG problem with New Holland is NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON THE TC 35 TC40 or TC 45D except of course from a loyal Blue owner named James. Nothing at the website, no brochures with specs and most importantly, no dealers with anything but TC 33's and smaller. I can't see one, drive one or get information from the dealers or New Holland on one. Hows that possible? Maybe they will hit the West Coast last. They have some cool features like a swivel seat that turns left or right about 15 deg's, an electric shift up/down gear splitter on the joystick for the HST in addition to Low, Med. and High. SuperSteer which I will admit is incredible on the TC33. Great bucket visibility. Easy entry from either side, real easy. Extendo 3pt. lift arms that have several inches of travel. Thats the bonus I see in the TC35D, TC40D and TC45D. The Kubota has arguably the best diesel and best HST (L4610 HST is what I'm looking at) By the way Jim, I use both a Ford 2120 12X12 and my favorite, a Kubota L4850. A 5 cylinder diesel that is, mmmmmm marvelous! Rat...

Wen,

"We all looked at BLUE and GREEN, but bought ORANGE."

Did I miss something, was there an Orange vote and they appointed you the spokesperson? I know there are some Orange owner out there that only looked at Orange, just like some Blue owners that only looked at Blue!

I'm really glad that you got what you wanted and your tractor outspecs the competition. Mine does too and it suits me fine. As I've stated before, mine outspecs some bigger Kubota's. However, I still need to get to the bottom of the Hourmeter deal. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

I actually looked at a whole lot more tractors than the big 3.

The reason they call this a forum is that everyone has a chance to post!

Maybe since you don't BELIEVE that other Kubota owners discounted the BLUE before they bought, they will probably have to tell you themselves before you will believe them. Come on - one at a time. Ganging up just wouldn't be fair. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
