LS Owner in a NH Dealership

My local LS dealer is a really small dealership. They only have two tractors on display at any one time. They stock a few LS filters and that's it. If I need to order parts they sell at retail and add the shipping costs to it. But a half mile away is a huge NH dealer and they have blue tractors. I have an LS MT125 but that is a NH Workmaster 25S. So I order parts for the 25S. LS doesn't have an online parts catalog but NH does and here's a link:

This dealer will even discount my parts a little off retail and the parts come in a week in a stock order for the dealership with no shipping costs to me. The parts man knows I have an LS too and doesn't exactly understand the relationship between LS and NH but they are super friendly and extremely professional. So for me I have the best of both worlds. I love my LS tractor and I have a great NH dealer to work with plus an online parts catalog.

The parts guy, at the New Holland Dealership informed me that LS was bought out by New Holland "years ago" and that LS does not exist any longer. I asked him why then are the parts for a New-New Holland are all metric? He said that New Holland is all metric because that is the standard. I shook my head, said something like "Oh, ok.," paid for the parts, and walked out. On the way out, there was a Boomer 35, I looked at the tag, across the top, LS Mtron Ltd.

I was shocked, and a bit confused. Why would a parts guy believe such a thing? A simple google search would prove him wrong. And metric being the standard? I thought standard was the standard for an American company?! It's sad to know that the people in my area do not know that LS makes NH and that even LS exists in the first place!

I sometimes buy my filters from the local New Holland dealer. They don’t know what an LS is, but are happy to sell any product to me, as long as I can supply the NH part number.

It’s not surprising at all that they don’t know that LS makes a lot of the New Holland machines.

Sounds like we need to try to educate them a bit.

My dealer is similar, but has a few more machines in different sizes. From what they told me, they sell more in the 40HP range than the little one. I wish there was a better process to order parts by web though. Some shops have a web order process, but the company doesn't.

Absolutely! Dealer relationships are very important, way more so than a car dealer. And I have an awesome relationship with my LS dealer, but they are not open over the weekend. I probably could have waited, but who wants to wait in todays society? :D

Me. I usually only go to town once or twice a month. Sometimes more often if I really need something.

Yes, I try educate whenever I can. That is the primary reason I make those videos on YT.

I wish I could go into town one or twice a month. Sounds great! But I work downtown, in a mid-size city with a population of about 400K. My property is up in the mountains, but is only about a 20 minute drive to civilization. So 'going to town' is not something special. However, I do hate it. I'm a farm boy removed from the farm.

Avenger; keep up the good work on the videos, I enjoy them!

I have a 2013 R4041H , what would the New Holland model number equivalent be?

I went to the NH Dealer and looked at them and got the brochure for "MY" LS Tractor. That's how I figured it out. Was kind of fun to see my tractor in a deeper blue.

Not positive. Does that tractor have the Mitsubishi S4QL 4-cylinder engine? If so, I believe that is the old New Holland Workmaster 40. But I am not sure. There may not be a straight cross-over between the two. New Holland does not re-badge every LS tractor. But again, I am not sure. I know mine is the current NH Boomer 45, and that is really all I know.

Glad you got your parts. You should have told the parts guy that Ford owns Cummins and that Yanmar owns John Deere.....

I buy my nuts and bolts from a JD dealership because they have bulk bins and sell by weight. Maybe see if you can find a dealership that does the same thing.

I believe that the parts numbers are the same with LS and NH, except NH part numbers start with MT.

Yes that is my Engine. Thanks for the info, guess I'll research the Workmaster 40

The Workmaster actually has an LS engine. What you want to reference is the 2013 New Holland Boomer 40. It is labeled as a 40, but actually runs the Tier 3 Mitsubishi S4QL engine with an output of 41hp.

Thats what I was struggling with. I couldnt figure out if it was the old Boomer 40 or Workmaster 40. The NEW Workmaster has the LS engine, but the old has a Mitsu. Looking at photos, they are so similar. So, thats why I am not sure. :confused3:
