crash325 it is 11 pm in Ohio. Light rain and 34 degrees for the high today. Could use the lump of coal for my fireplace. May light propane so I can go to bed and not worry about heat. We will have your weather Tuesday with a high of 69 degrees. Bird seed day tomorrow, 40lbs sunflower seeds 10 dollars. Local store on sale. Might be last for the winter. In Ohio you never plan as it is always changing. Recently unwrapped my outdoor extension cord with the tractor and snow plow. 75ft. now more like 50. Did not break the reel it was wrapped on. Needed new female end anyways. Sometimes when you get started you end up further behind at the end of the day. Keep posting enjoy the read.

Thanks crash, I look forward to seeing a package in the mail! How are "the mutts" doing. I hear you about not judging a book by it's cover. When I had a construction business a few years back, a guy came onto a job site looking for work. He had a purple Mohawk haircut, a bull ring in his nose, big hoops cut into his earlobes, pierced tongue, pierced eyebrows, tattoos..... You know the look. Talks very well, yes sir and yes ma'am. I figure what the h**l, I'll give you a shot. Turned out he was the hardest worker on the crew. Always showed up on time, always worked late. I could trust him to get whatever needed done to be finished. Made him foreman in 4 months.

Reminds me of a sheet rock guy I had working for me. Came with lots of good references and gave a fair price. (Ill call him John) Showed up on time with another guy (Bill)and started in. Next day only the other guy was working and finished the job himself. Not happy the guy was using nails when I wanted screws. Left a mess too and I had to go back and cut out 3 plug boxes that he had covered and not cut out. I had called John several times but no go as Bill worked. The day after the other Bill left john shows up with the bill which was more than the quote. I showed john the original signrd quote, the requirement for screws and clean up. I gave John a check for 75% of the original quote charging him for clean up, putting screws in, and the plug box issue. He was not happy, but I had the contract and pictures as proof.

When I brought the finisher in (tape and texture) he went over and above redoing the nails with screws and discovered another box to be cut out, He was very careful cleaning up, had a vacuum on his wall sander, and did a great job of skip trowel texture. His bill was less than the quote, but I paid him a bonus for the excellent work.

Now I am having fun interviewing 6 hardwood flooring installers (all with good BBB and references). I told them I wanted good work and not a fast install. I scratched 4 off the list as they would have a crew in ans not be there. I am probably going to go with the guy that does the work himself as he has been at it 40 years.

So Crash I agree you cant judge a book by the cover. BTW have you tried Benadrill cream for the itchy spots? Also Camameal (sp) lotion ? It will also make you smell pretty  Also how did you blood sugar test go?
Hang in there
Keith

Hi all just a quickie
Ls, found 5 sling shots, 1 boy, 1 girl & 3 others. I of them is cholla, that is a real neat wood, 1 of the other is set up to shoot arrows.. You can all 5 if you want, Lots of fun for the family. I like to shoot paint balls, marbles are real good & cheap.

have some more cholla if some of you want to make something out of it. Some apple wood with worm holes, i made some neat things out of it.
Several model R/R books if anyone is interested. They are quit old.

Be nice to get postage, but even that is not important.

Mutts are happy & healthy,. They get enough people seeds to almost not need dog seeds.

More later,
Jim

Life goes on & on.

the lady had 3 emeralds and wanted 3 identical pedants for her daughters. No problem, thinking where did she get emeralds. well a bank at the time if you put in $10,000 they gave you an emerald. $30,000 is a pretty deposit in my opinion.

1 1/2+ days of rain + more the next morning. Slow & steady no run off. It sure cooled things off. Today very windy, maybe 10 mph gusts up to 30 mph or so.Never did warm up. Blew the lid off the dog seeds, had a hard time finding it.

another dumb thing. Left the bacon out, thought I had put back in fridge. Dog had a very good treat, Only 4 slices left.

Just barely enough beer & not quite enough little cigars. OH well Wednesday is pay day.

Got a few little things done. bag of trash out of house. Got jumper cables near the truck, will put them in tomorrow.

The sound of silence is golden. Today would have been real good, wind noise messed that up.

Pee & poo control goes on & on, 3 trips since I stared this. Body jerks ( muscle spasms?? ) Pee need, sudden pain, or itch & off they go.

Pay day get batt charger & pellet gun. + all the usual stuff. Beer & smokes will last longer now that Doug has moved. Get to BSing & they go pretty fast.

Power co is sure sticking it too me. Bill more that double what it should be. Last May $413, impossible. $35 to come out & check things, Meter is fine (he says), everything Looks normal . Some is wrong with something some where & I do not think it is here. Going to pay just enough to keep power on.

No water for a day & 1/2, no idea what was wrong. Sandy waits 3 months to send me a bill. She a real pain in the butt. Give her a few $$ every now & thing. do not care if she ever gets paid. Well repair last time $698, for what I am sure Harvey & I use to do free & could not even get a thank you, much less paid. Sandy was always the last one to pay & then complained that the bill was too high.

New neighbors bough a bunch of chickens. Unless they are caged all the time I may get a few fresh eggs. At the store you will never get actually fresh eggs. Want to get some chickens my self & will if I can get cage built. Maybe next year. Chickens that can runaround have much better eggs, yolk not yellow but orange & much tastier.

First picture Grandma & Grandad. Car is a Whippet, Almost like a Model A, but a little nicer.
Other 1 is stage coach # 2. One way to tell is a coach is real the tung does not lay on the ground.

Neat pictures. Always amazed at how people had to get around back then. Also the skills that they had to make things. People these days just want to 'make a call' and get whatever they want. Back then they made what they needed.

Baby its cold out & inside as well. Fingers are numb. 33 at 7 am & 59 inside. Guess spring came & went. A little drizzle most days. Will have a bumper crop of weeds in a month or 3.

Was going to town early. Nope wait for it to warm up some. A little beer left & smokes almost gone. Stock up today Get more bird seeds, dog seeds just to be sure not to run out. Decent T paper, Crappy crap paper is a waste. 1 cheep O & 1 high $$ both crappy. Just made it with coffee, get 2. Lots of people seeds left, so don't need too many. Another try at tacos & make some chili dogs. Patatos going to seed onions starting to grow as well. Just don't eat enough fast enough.

Christmas several years ago. Tree is a large cholla. still have it birds like it.
Only things I truly enjoy are feeding the birds, smokes & beer. Will never quit any of those , like to make sure I have plenty p
of dog seeds. Quail are a lot o fun. Throwing seeds the other day, trying to count how many, got up 21, & they were still coming.

Jim, appreciate your posts, wish I was close by, would enjoy hearing stories and messing with your projects.

Jim, I to appreciate your posts, I also like beer and a small cigar. Had to stop the beer recently because it made me pee constantly (as in drink 1 and pee 2) and when I went to bed I would pee throughout the night, probably age related.

"Jim, appreciate your posts, wish I was close by, would enjoy hearing stories and messing with your projects."

You know your getting old when the #1 tropic of conversation is health problems.

Went to town yesterday, back was pretty good until almost home. Pee thing not so good. & so on.

Looked for some things & could not fined them, other things needed, didn't get. Coffee #1 thing missed. Got burger to make tacos, no taco sauce oil to cook tortillas in & so on. Wanted to get a flow through, Smitty, or cherry bomb, for a muffler. Sick ot the stink from the none exigent muffler near the cab.$36 then I need to pay someone to put it on. Old hunk of junk will have to be sawed off. In the old days I did all that sort of thing. Now just getting under the truck is a pain, getting back up even worse.

When working or busy pee thing is pretty good, but back & legs act up. When putting in the last switch that didn't work legs quivered the whole time & back screamed. But things have to be done & if I don't do them no 1 will.

Don't think I need to go to the gym or go jogging, with CRS in full bloom I walk twice as far as most folks.

Got another switch sure hope this one works. very different than the other 3. Got a batt charger not as good as I wanted but good enough for a while.

Stories & pictures never sure if it is something I have posted of not. Stories, did I tell them to some on or did I post them. Getting old & forgetful. :D

Beery & coffee, 9 hours last night, got up pee twice, pour cup of coffee & tow more. So on & so on.

There is a real nice hard working you man working for Henry, as I get $ to pay him have lots of things he can do. Tired of living in a place where cock roaches are moving out.

Sure be glad when things start to warm up. Had more than enough cold for a while.

Too many choices on what to eat, think about it, then eat nothing.Got a couple of cheap steaks yesterday, Steak & eggs sur is good, Had them run through the tenderizer twice, so a toothless person can eat them.

VA will not work on teeth unless I am disabled, Dr will not even give me a clue as where to go how how to get it. Am I disabled?? Can walk almost 50 feet before legs and or back start acting up. Then a little farther & a coughing fit starts.

There is nothing quite as nice as the sound of silence. Life is really good then. Time for a beer or 3 + steak & eggs.

More later with fun stories & pictures.
Jim
