Good Morning Jim Sounds like for you the situation is normal.
So new neighbors maybe good for the neighbor hood . Here every time some one moves in from the city after paying to much for the land the taxes go up. or the county assesses the property higher.
yesterday looking at a peach tree saw the buds are coming out. almost guarantee it will be frozen back. so no peaches.
Haven't looked at the plum trees supposed the same.
Have cut back on the traveling . sold the camper and truck to pull it. Quit driving the cattle trucks so manly just stay around the place.
I doubt that I've put a solid hour on any tractor in the past several months. so now before starting use volt meter to see if a charger is needed first.
Had a brother that died last fall would frequently comment that he could not hear or see anything clearly but Thanks God he could still drive.
Bought a large lawn mower and could not get between trees so took it back to place he purchased from and in unloading to exchange missed the clutch in reverse and drove over the concrete barrier which tipped the mower and he fell off. scared the willies out of employees of the business. so got a hydrostatic drive and then would get the forward and reverse mixed up . so no one was safe when he drove it. the keys ended up in sons pocket and it stayed in the garage.
Getting old is and everyday experamces in doing the same thing that worked yesterday.
at least it is easier to locate what your working on it will be on the floor. behind something that has to be moved to use hoe to scratch out and replace on work bench.
Keep posting Jim interesting reading.
