Jim received the box and thanks notice the cost was more than expected so a reimbursement is on the way.

Was not necessary, but thanks anyway. I'm in the chips now. Your $$, $19.01 (electric bill refund ) & $16.45 from criminal #1 ( Ronny). Lots of $$$ to waste foolishly.

Didn't feel so hot yesterday. Stopped at taco truck where I had gotten the best that I had ever eaten. Not so good this time, way different & the red sauce way too hot. Next day me got the trots & did make a real mess. It kept going until next AM.
better today. Went to local Dollar General, got bread tortillas, spice & a calendar. Chocolate & some chocolate cherries.

Gave Doug a 30 pack on way home. Me not in the mood for beer.

2 cartons of smokes missing, cheese thing & chocolate bars. Got home & guess what, found smokes, cheese thing & chocolate bars. now well stocked up.:D:thumbsup: Still have almost 4, 30 packs left.

Think Brandy wanted the turquoise book & think most everyone would like to look at the engines book. The shields, I patented & manufactured. They were sold world wide. Best customer was Micro Mark ( Scientific ) they ordered 500 at a time. Many others but mostly small orders. ( McMasters & Carr ) was pretty good, Every store did their own ordering, so I made more off each 1. retail was $8.95. Share with anyone that asks & stick it too them for postage. Even if you don't need or want the shield the nut part keeps your fingers off the chuck. If you have go hold of it when running, it would not be considered a good thing. The largest steam engine I ever saw was on a mine hoist. About 6 foot dia. Grand dads cement mixer had a hit & miss engine, & ran it a lot. Even got to do the trucking. Large wheel barrows, that was lots of fun. NOT!!!

Ken On the little map you sent, you had my place right. I marked it with the names of others that showed on it. But as with a lot of things I forgot to mail it & and an Ad out of the catalog showing the shields.

Wish it were a infection, but had antibiotics not too long ago. If I ever get the pain & pee thing under control, I will be a happy camper. It is clear that when in pain, brain does not work very good. The number of dumb things I have done in the last few months is unreal. Now I know how stupid I really am or can be.

Doug gave me a fun thing. A "Worry Stone"", a fidget thing to keep me entertained. Just rub it & your troubles are all gone.

More later. yes I am truly blessed & know it, but forget at times when I get on the pity potty.

Jim

Around 1980, when I was in college in Phoenix, I got up one summer morning and drove down to Tuscon. I wandered around all day, enjoying the sites. Late afternoon, I headed back. I got one of the worst sunburns of my life, just on my left arm and left side of my face and neck. Fond memories of Tuscon.

Been there, done that... well not exactly there when I burned the same way but it was a college road road trip crossing the Mexican border just because.

A short little up date.
Been down to 27 the last few days. Gets a little warmer in PM up to about 62. Not too bad unless there is a breeze.
Had strong winds for 50 / 60 hours, 20/25 with gusts over 50 mph. That was a few days ago.

Been using the wood stove, takes it a little while, but gets the house a little too hot.
bobby girl hates the stove,. Reminds her of the deck fires???
Cut a small load of wood, will get it brought in today. Used up most of what is inside.

Have a lot of tiles, found 4 that are real neat. sort of look like the desert in the distance. May put them on the wall some place.

Forgot to renew drivers license, over 75 miles to DMV. Had I done it early could have done it without going there.

Had a illegal go past the east fence about 3 days ago. Moving fast something over his shoulder & something hanging off of it. Drugs???

First time in years a little while ago there was a house cat out front. Let Bobby out to have some fun. Don't think she remembers that here original home was over run with cats. Dog not really interested. He is a pretty strange mutt, fun & loves to be loved on. Rib tickles & butt scratches ( Base of his tail on top.)

I put some 4x4s in his favorite hole under fence, he just moved them. His little friend (Bony look alike without any white places) is coming in on a regular basis. She even acts like Bony. Jumping over the Bobby & Dog. Wants them to play. she does eat a little, but seeds are lasting a lot longer. The good thing is Dog is now getting some much needed exercise.

Got antique cast iron stove loaded in truck. That sucker is heavy!!. If I have the $$ will get it a regulator & hose to make it work. have most of the ceramics to make it work. Hope it puts out enough heat for the deck to warm up & stay warm.

Rarely feel good any more. Lack of sleep?? up at least once an hour to pee. Pain pills that don't work??? Or ??? Maybe when it warms up a little, it will help. Do feel better when working & getting things done / accomplished.

More later
Jim.

Jim it has been a little over a week and no comments of Desert living.
The getting up at night I am sure the VA would have a miniature roto rooter to clean out the cause.
and not charge over much to do the necessary job.
Getting that way myself.
Used to have a truck could get 500 miles on tank of fuel and I had a set of kidneys or bladder that would do the same.
Now neither will get much over 200 miles. on good days.

Been repairing a Kubota tractor prior owner had engine removed for repair . and some where from his giving to repairman and going back to pick it up the engine disappeared.
Something insurance doesn't cover.
So bought rear half at flywheel cover complete. including the front 4 wheel drive.
Then looked into getting another engine. 2K used "as is" which means needs repair. 3K for just short block
then purchase all the needed parts to run.
So purchased a Predator engine 22 hp from Harbor Freight. gas but still engine with all the needed parts except the Hydraulics. got a pump from e bay will be here in 10 days.
so now have a gas Kubota that runs good sounds interesting . Should I call it a Pubota ?

Looking forward to your update of problems on the desert. Ever watch the death valley days program the 20 mule/oxen team hauling materials must of took good part of morning just to hook up the mules or oxen which ever used.

Hi ken & all,
Short post. Too many days that I just don't feel good. No reason & not sick. Don't want to talk to people or type.

Ken sounds like a fun project, keep us up to date on it.

Only accomplishment is poking a hole in the barn to put extension cords through. A few days before I hung up a Swag lamp, really like the way it lights the deck.

Want to change the router on the plastic table. How hard can that be?? First 1 prong on the plug is missing. No big deal, just cut 1 off something else & put it on. Went pretty well, now to mount the sucker. That is where the fun begins. Line up holes, screws will not go in, find old tap, & re-cut the threads, nothing really removed, but screws go in. Out of 3 routers everyone of them has a problem. This not cheep junk router, Porter Cable. 1 Is really wimpy, can not feed wood slow enough to keep it from stalling out. Another height of bit can no longer be adjusted. Back to current, plenty strong. Height is push up & hope, a few tries & at last got that right (or so I think ) get the side & bottom cuts to match. Another 15/20 minutes & that is done. Well, not so fast, cut too wide & too deep, bit feels sharp , but may be dull. Time to end the aggravation & have a beer. Maybe 2.

Couple of days ago Doug came down, a feel good day sort of wasted. Drink beer & BS each other. He brought me an old cast iron motor cycle with a rider on it. Think it was a messenger, Who knows??? It is the crudest cast iron toy I have ever seen. Crude is putting it mildly . But it is neat. Would like to sand blast it & repaint it.

Some time back He gave me a metal poster with Jimmy Dean on it, Advertising "KIST" soda, Any of you ever hear of it????
Jimmy is also in cowboy cloths, Think he only made 1 western movie. More questions than answers. Like to hear form you folks on that.

Of course I talk to my self. Some times I need an expert opinion.
Think about it everyone talks to themselves. Maybe not out loud, but in your mind you are planning & thinking. Figuring out how to make the next mistake., Some thing i am good at.

Were it not for memories & dreams (Planning things) there would be no point in living.

False ??? spring is here, only down to about 41 at night & up to low 80s mid afternoon. Am pretty sure there will be some more freezing.

When playing cop I saved a fair damsel from rape . Returning from Boot hill, as I pass "Cacho Ville) I hear her screaming in great distress. Gun drawn, I whip around there to save the girl. Girl, lady, NOPE, Pheasants screaming in the middle of the night.

Have a new dog, well sort of, not mine, lives or belongs across the road. Have named her Bony #2 or just 2. She looks & acts a lot like Bony. A little smaller & no white marking. She is always active or on alert. She does understand the work no. Think at home she may be abused or yelled at. If she was more of an alarm dog would actually encourage her to stay here more.

Have a lot of pictures to post, some old some new & some still in camera. Maybe in a day or 3. Sort of depends on how I feel or the mood I am in

Got a dream book from Arbor Fright, Reminds me of the old sears Christmas catalogs. Need tractor battery, & after that fix rifle on flag pole so it does not snag.

Bad as I hate it will start selling things on Ebay. Pain in the butt, but sure need $$$. Doubt that the VA will ever come through with disability. & the lord says he helps those that help themselves. & I don't mean taking $$ for the collection plate.

Time to put on real cloths & go outside, see what I can screw up or completely ruin.

Keep those cards & letters coming. Maybe more fun & happy stories in the future.

Jim
