The good & the bad.
Started the day with some minor problem, can't even remember what.
Went up & dropped off my ballot. Looked over the community center, lots different than 8 10 years ago. Now have a pool table & other things. May go up there some time in the future. They also have a free lunch.

Stopped on my way home had beer with a friend, solved some world problems.
Got home in a good mood. Go out later to feed the birds. Left front tire is flat Have a can of flat fix, but want to save it in case of road problems. Spare tire has a slow leak & is flat. Tires almost new, so maybe its just a nail & can be plugged. May have to get a ride, if my old plug kit is over the hill.

Still in a fair mood, well after a few minutes. Have tinitas in both ears. left ear calms down when stress goes away, right ear stays fairly loud, but as been easing up lately.

I moved here because it had just about everything I wanted in a place. Sister has 5 acres in Marana, thought about going there.
$13,000 for permits, before even digging a hole. Tombstone out of the question, not a real small town any more. Nothing suitable for sale in a few other places I would have like to lived.

Have thought about writing a or books for a long time. Should have done it years ago, when I could type better & memory worked better. If any of you live near & Oaks Texas, go take a look. It was about like the old time towns. Run by 1 person & family. Went there about 20 years ago, could have had a place in town, free for a while. Old lady "Patsy Boon" owned & her family ran the whole town. She wanted me to take over a liquor store, free building for my jewelry business. Wanted me to buy her house, or 1 of the other 42 homes she owned. Owned a big office building in Livingston, free rent there for a while.
Big problem she would have had control of my life. She was quite a character. An old gug was behind on his rent, she went up there & kicked his door down. She and a friend also Maned Patsy Boon, not related, were suppose to go dancing that night. When she didn't show up & was called said she had hurt her hip. Friend thinking she had fallen, nope hurt it kicking door down. Drove a big Ford 350, Had silly old lady friend about same age, Late 70s or early 80s. wore a see thru blouse & no bra. She owned the motel, said tell them I sent you & you will save some money. Before I told them that I ask how much $37, After $29. Could not find room, instead of it being part of the regular rooms it was part of the main building. Not a room but an apartment. She also owned the bar, pretty nice bar, music & dancing. She bought me a round of drinks. Told the waitress I really wanted to pay for them. Nope she says when "Patsy Speaks I Listen". Tried to bu Patsy a drink, she does not drink. Meet for breakfast, I about 10 minutes late, got fussed at for that.

Did buy a house just out side of Livingston, 2+ acres, beautiful house, real brick, cabinet work hard to believe, real wood, huge gun rack, large picture window. What looked like a lawn that did not have to be mowed. Nice little creek on back side.
Also a housing development suppose to be built in back. Nothing there, except good deer hunting. Never go to live in the house, lost $$ on it as with most all of my property deals. North of Huston about 45 miles.

More later. Look at flat & make a plan. We know how that usually turns out.

I left quite a bit out of the story, should have written a book. but lots of should off's in my life & didn'ts.

Also though of writing a book on growing up (poor but didn't know it.)
Another book on Grandad. Chances of me ever doing any of that are very slim.

Memory is kind of a strange thing. I can remember cretin things, but can't fill in the before or the after bits.

Have been inventing things most of my life. Some I made & some I just dreamed up but never made. One I did patent & will take some pictures of it. Give you 1 free, even pay postage should you have a use for it.
Also invented a paper holder for the bath room, paper towel & tissue holder, made several & gave them away as Christmas presents.

Cold snap starting now 51 at 2 AM. Wish I were sleeping, got 3 hours & now wide awake. Going outside & light little heater & watch nothing. Also listen to the quite. :D Not much in the mood for beer, drinking lots of coffee. Hove what I call vertical, l allergy. Laying down nose is fine, sitting or standing nose runs. When cold or cool it also acts up. Why???

More later,
Jim

Jim,

I was perusing internet to buy a turquoise rock (rough, not gem or jewelry) and learned that it is Arizona's state mineral/rock. Are there places out there that will sell/ship a turquoise rock (about 1-3 pounds) to someone over here in NC? This is the traditional 11th wedding anniversary gift and wanted to surprise my wife. Most of what I found on line so far is from CHINA. :-(

Thanks,
Jeff

In Kingman is a shop / mine that I use to buy from. There may be 1 in Morency About 300 miles north or here. And there is at least 1 in Bisbee. Maybe look them up by name & place. 1# or larger is pretty rare & would be very costly. If no luck maybe I can find 1 in town. Have a friend that meets with a rock club he can ask next meeting. Morency & Bisbee are the best quality, if you want blue. It also may be more green than blue.

Miserable Rotten night.
Maybe 3 hours sleep go outside nice & peaceful, & quite.
Forgot & left B_BQ on. Nice hunk of meat I had nursed for about 3 days, Marinated in a full bottle of A-1. Lots of mustard, & some mustard BBQ souse Cooked very slowly, for about 6 hours. Its now charcoal. May be hard for the mutts to eat.
I could have cried & almost did.
Have another & some nice ribs. May put them in a crock pot or electric roaster. Didn't really want a been when I went out. But after that I did want & drank 1. Come in no sleep. Get up pee, within seconds do it over again.

Sure as he!! hope today goes better,
Jim

Wow! The Morenci is beautiful and now my favorite, but also very expensive. The deep blue is amazing.

Found a Kingman mine, Colbaugh, and sent them a note. Durango Silver popped up too but they don't sell rough rock which is what my wife is wanting. Had no idea there was so much variation in Turquoise and seems to be named by the mine it comes from. All very interesting.

Thank you Jim!

Glad I could help. Yup it comes in lots of different blues & even some green. Your request reminded me of a few little things.
May moons ago I gave a couple of lectures at a gem & mineral club in CA. Have the AZ highways mag on It lots of nice pictures & interesting reading. Entered the SD gem & mineral show with something, turq & silver. Everyone said I could not win, competing against gold & diamonds. Ig memory is correct got a second place. Later on got best in show for a gold, diamond & ??? ring ( I think ). Use to have a big picture frame with lots of ribbons, first, seconds, thirds.

Lot a moons ago ( second / third grade ) while on a bear hunt in Dulcy NM ( Sweet NM) there was an Indian Pow Wow, not one of the tourist things of today. An old Indian was sitting under a tree with a tray of silver & turc rings. Traded a big red scarf like you see in the western movies on RR men, for a ring that mom wore almost every day all her life.

More later on the subject if interested.

Cold this AM 48. Although little heater seems wimpy temp goes up fairly fast on deck

2 good things yesterday got extension on traffic ticket & can pay the fine at $20 a month. Drilled some more holes in the floor, it worked, no more lake or river in the hall. Got appointment at
VA. Lady says you need to see surgery, not so fast. I may or may not want to be cut on, & it depends on how well it works & what are the side effects.
Of course I had to do a couple of dumb things to balance out the good things.

More later on any subject you would like to hear about.

Yesterday went pretty well some success & no real set backs.

Got hood up on tractor. Don't know why it was stuck, will look into that later.
Could see the wire to the fuel injector, it was on. Sure enough can make it work.
Still can not get it to crank.
Appears that a wire to the starter is missing. Enough, try some other things another day.

Made a cup of hot chocolate, didn't taste quite right, but not too bad. Sure enough milk is going south.
Dogs loved it.
Have another gallon so no big deal.

Made toilies on big grill. not a good idea. didn't ruin them but came close. When I said big grill was 1 year old I meant about 10 years old.

Small girl & heater get another chance. Bottle I though had bug juice in it was empty. Now should get 4 of them filled.
Have another heater in bathroom, didn't really need it, but wanted to make sure i worked. fired right up. Sure did surprise me that it worked so well, bedroom went up 2 degrees in about 10 minuets. Even warmed up the living room some.

Got to get truck jacked up. 1 Reason I want tractor to run. It will not lift the front end, but does help. Truck as always been a pain to jack up. Use to keep 2 jacks in it.. Lift as far as 1 will go. set other jack on blocks & go again. & so on. Hope that the bead will get close enough to seal again. Find out what is wrong & maybe slime or plug it. Hate slime, but it does work.

Some of us are like an airplane on the ground.
We are not going anyplace.
Have a great day.

More later,
Jim

Can you post a link to the Morenci? I would like to see it. I'm a white turquoise girl, myself.

Morenci is also where the world's largest copper mine is. Spent a little time there doing a software implementation for Phelps.
