Today was sort of spring like, almost 80 & sun shining.
Well water tank needed purging - It was water logged. Been that way for a while, just didn't want to mess with it.
Turned off power & opened the drain valve, takes a while to empty a 500 gal tank.
Should have insulated it, but didn't. Just being lazy.
Criminal #2 shows up in a few minuets , the one that threatened me a while back. Just as nice and friendly as he could be. Even had a story about why he acted the last time.
I told him he better get prepared to take over the maintenance & I was not spending any more $$ on the well. & He should do something about insulating the pipes.
I expect zero work from him. Bought my loosing lottery ticket today. That's OK prize will be higher next week when I win. :laughing:

Today I bit the bullet & insulated thee well. Down to 28 /27 last night. only for a couple of hours. Soon it will be that cold most of the day & night. That is when things freeze & break.
Other than a roll of duck tape it was mostly junk type of stuff. Old not very good insulation, empty plastic coated dog food sacks, some black plastic trash bags & a few pull tights. About 2 or 2.5 hours & its pretty well done. A couple of small pipes & it should be good for another year or 2
Got my small (1/4") chain & come a long back. They had been holding the manifold from blowing apart.
Then off to town, months supply of groceries, dog food & beer. Sure made a long day, didn't get home until after sun down.

Thanks giving was very, very quiet around this place. About the only sound was a lonesome Dove a few hundred yards away & another answering it.
Dogs got a lot of extra treats, fried boneless chicken, hot dogs, cheddar cheese. Even put out extra seeds for the birds & gotten tails. One little cotton tail, sat about 15 feet away watching. I talked to it & it came closer, as I threw seeds all around it. It backed off a little as I turned & walked away. Quail also came out in force as I threw seeds. Must have been close to 30 of them, hard to count as they never stand still.
Weather was near perfect, around 82 / 84 degrees & just a slight breeze. Stayed out most of the day. Just listening to the quiet. Had beer & tomalies & later a bratwurst burger. & 2 Or 3 more beers. Even the gun range about 3 miles away was quiet, no one shooting.
Well today, things did not go to well. Little Boy did get in the truck all on his own. But panicked when I kept him in & drove around the yard a little. Let him out.
Wanted to use the tractor it would start & run for a little while then die. Though it was low on fuel even though the gauge said 1/2. Took can up & got some fuel, + small tank of propane. Just about filled the tank on the tractor. Now it would not start at all. Bad Switch, jumped it & tractor ran fine. OK no problem having lots of fuel.
More treats for the dogs & extra bird seeds.
Tomorrow may use the tractor a little. After 3 or 4 hours back pain pretty much shuts me down. Hard to think of anything else.

Well Jim was thinking the neighbor you have mentioned had stolen your computer been several days of silence.
Been a busy couple of weeks here. Wife developed another macular hole and had a large brown spot in right eye
So called eye Doc. and 80 mile drive she received surgery to close then 7 days of laying face down. This will be the third eye surgery and 2 cataract surgery in 3 years.
Still will have another week before can sit up any length of time.
So have developed dish pan hands and learned to cook again. also experience in laundry and vacuum cleaning.
Was thinking you probably had a" road runner" for the dinner bird.
This is different than road kill or poor mans stew.
For some reason that I forgot there was a vote for you. guess you can add mine to the count.

Mother Bobby has never bit anyone, but I would not trust her should she be cornered. She does defend her truck with vigor.
Little Brat does not trust anyone. She is strictly a 1 man dog. You could not get close to here with a steak. She did not trust Clinton ( #2 criminal) & laid down about 3 feet away & watched his every move.
Little Boy loved everyone & though they were a friend, but has started to wise up.
The good news is that all of Little Boy's wounds have healed up. Slight scaring, but that is it.

Well Thanksgiving goes on for the critters & the spoiled rotten dogs.
Putting out seeds 2 or 3 times a day.
While sawing up some fire wood & splitting a little kindling, one of the quail told me in mo uncertain terms to get out of there as they wanted to eat.
They came in at least 3 times today, 20 or 30 of them. All chattering & scuffling. Doves & what I call the Chit birds just sat & waited.
Little Boy still thinks he is a lap dog & he can also jump up into my arms. Managed to push him off course on his way up, 3 or more times.
Gave the dog brats some hot dog, a little bar b q as well. had some old English muffins, Brat & Bobby didn't care for them, so Little Boy got them all. Birds use to get all that sort of thing.
My winning lottery ticket. lost again. Pot gets sweeter every week.
